@Tharsman I'm talking about consoles. The game has been already confirmed to be coming to PC eventually.
The point is that it being on Xbox is largely irrelevant since they don't really buy that many copies of FF.
The statistics are also from a game that came out before Gamepass was even a thing, so if I had to guess the sales now are probably worse than it was before.
Probably one of the many reasons Square and some other Japanese devs don't even bother with Xbox ports, even for titles that don't have any type of exclusivity agreement.
It's up to MS to foot the bill and get those games onto Gamepass, otherwise they don't really succeed.
I think Jon Burton and everyone who's agreeing with him is completely misunderstanding what R&C is doing.
Of course, instant level swapping has always been possible. Neither Sony nor Insomniac has said otherwise.
You can always use trickery to hide loading screens in the background while playing a pre-rendered video, force players into a small section while the next one loads and have assets loaded into memory before they're even needed.
Sony has literally explained that in the Road to PS5 presentation.
What's intrinsically different with R&C is that it's not using any of this trickery. It is literally dumping the entire previous level and loading in the new one into memory as soon as requested.
As Mark Cerny explained previously devs would need to keep assets that would be needed in the next 2 min of gameplay loaded into memory, but with the SSD they could have things loaded into memory that would be needed as soon as 2 seconds.
That way they can push for unrivaled levels of detail without any compromises, and that's exactly what they've done with R&C.
Nothing misleading about that.
Kind of a stupid criticism to make tbh, of course you can also get RDR 2 running on PS3, only that you would need to cut down everything that makes RDR 2, well RDR 2.
(Size of the map, models, textures and everything In between).
That's like saying Microsoft advertising Forza Horizon 5 running at 4K at max settings is only made possible on SX is misleading because you can also run that game at 1080p on Xbox One.
Hey @get2sammyb , are you going to update this article and correct it?
Because we already know this petition was created by an Xbox fanboy trying to pass off as a PS fan.
It's crazy to me how some consider themselves journalists and not even take their time to do research, not only that but also refuse to correct themselves. Even worse when they call themselves PS fans but use a fake headline to not only bash on their own community but also gain some easy clicks.

@Shepherd_Tallon Yep, same guy that also said PS5 wouldn't sell well because of it being white.
Funny thing is just a few hours ago he made an article saying that Sony's quarterly numbers are disappointing, even though they're higher than ever 💀
Re: Square Enix Bafflingly Backtracks on Final Fantasy 16 Sales, Blames 'Slow' PS5 Adoption
@Tharsman Xbox wouldn't have sold 2 million copies and you know it lol.
Maybe PC, but they'd be lucky if they got 1 million out of Xbox.
Look FF15 for example, it released the same day on Xbox on a much larger install base and still 80% of it's sales were on PS4.
Re: Microsoft Admits Its Games Are Worse Than Sony's
I'm convinced both companies are participating in a public competition to see who's able to sound more pathetic
