I checked the other day and it comes up at full price for me when Im logged in. Luckily my PSplus expires on 1st decemeer and the deal is on untill the 5th so I should be able to take advantage
Ive subscribed to premium every year for £80 on black friday, but Ive just realised that when sony gave us a free week for a psn outage this year, it has pushed me out of the black friday window so looks like I wont be subscribing this year. Its worth £80, not worth £120
This list is pathetic. There have been many amazing games on PSVR2 this year. Unfortunately, its never gonna take off, when even a Playstation site isnt even giving it the attention it deserves.
Even if no more games was ever to be released, there are already more 'must buys' than most people buy for a single console generation.
@Porco Not really. The only people bashing it are people who have never tried it. Everyone Ive seen on youtube who actually got one likes it, even those who didnt like the concept before trying it.
And I wish people would stop saying Sony should make a dedicated handheld 'like people want'. If people wanted one, the Vita would have sold well, and Nintendo would still be making dedicated handhelds.
Id much rather have a Portal, that allows me to play all my PS5 games and full graphics anywhere in the world for a one off cost of £200
Not a £500 device, that plays cut down versions of my PS5 at an additional cost per game.
@Level_Mind are you talking from experience using a Portal? The PS5 doesnt have a browser, but you can still connect to hotel wifi and accept Ts&Cs by linking your phone to the PS5
@Ico1977 if you are having issues like that on your local network, then the issue is with your network not remote play. When playing on the same netqork as the PS5, it doesnt matter about broadband speed. 1mbps will perform the same as 1gbps, as the data does not leave your house.
@RichterBelmont Im certain that you will soon be able to stream games from PSplus servers. Sony have just announced that PS5 games are now streamable, but the disclaimer says only available on PS5 at launch. They wouldnt say that if it wasnt coming to other platforms (PS5 games on PS4 or Portal) later.
@B-Real Playstation hasnt supported Bluetooth audio since PS3, so its not that befuddling. Bluetooth is awful for latency issues, and since sony have to do etherything possible to get latency down, it makes perfect sense. I have a suspicion the old pulse headset will work via a USB adaptor, but Sony wont advertise such a messy solution as a feature.
@feral1975 I dont think you need an internet connection to play at home, just a basic wifi router. Remote play used to allow direct connection to the PS4 without a wifi router, but I dont think thats the case anymore.
Wow, I cannot believe it is a free upgrade. I was hoping it would be, but really expected at least an upgrade fee. As a thank you to Meta for not keeping this game Quest exclusive, I will buy the Queen DLC
Dont forget No Mans Sky. While it has not been fully confirmed. The PSVR version was free for anyone who had the PS4 version. The PS5 version is also a free upgrade to anyone who has PS4 version, so it stands to reason that the PSVR2 will also be free for all owners of the PS5 (therefore PS4) version.
@Blackbluto what are you going on about. PSVR1 was sold at proffit, the sales figures were way above what they expected for an experiment, and software attach rate was phenomenal.
Why do people keep saying this is going to be expensive. This can be made and sold for a small profit at £350/$400 Compare it to a Quest, which was only £300 untill the recent price increase (which was due to no new essential software sale)
PSVR2 does not have all the expensive components like CPU, GPU, RAM, Flash, Battery, WiFi.
What it does add are actually very cheap components, Adaptive triggers, and advance rumble (didnt add much to the cost of a controller) Rumble motor in headset. Two extra IR sensors for eye tracking. Better screen. (a mobile 4k HDR screen costs about $40 compared to the $20 quest one)
Sony know that the big money comes from software, so getting these into houses is priority)
PSVR2 will be £350/$400, if Im more than $50 out, Ill be suprised.
If Im honest, its the least interesting title to be showing off. I mean It will be a great game, but we all know exactly how it will play and look, as its gonna be more of the same as RE7.
@rjejr no chance PSVR2 will be that expensive. Compare it to Quest2. Since the PSVR2 has no storage, Ill compare it to the cheapest Quest model. $400 including controllers. The PSVR2 has no expensive CPU and GPU, no Ram, no storage, no wireless radios, no battery. Those savings will be more than enough to cover the costs of a slightly better screen, and eye tracking. Also Quest is the Wii of VR. Selling lots of units, but a low attach rate. PSVR1 had an amazing attach rate, as it is aimed at gamers, not casuals, so Sony wont need a big profit per unit on PSVR2, as will make money on software.
Its likely going to cost £350/$400
If people are going to consider the total cost of PS5/VR then the quest could be a better option for people, but PSVR2 is aimed at people who already have a PS5, or people looking at buying a next gen console. Why would a VR fan buy an Xbox over a PS5? And why would any PS5 owner buy a quest, when PSVR2 will be the same price.
I hate so called experts who know nothing about the subject. The PS5 may well struggle to run some games 4k 60fps, but its nothing to do with wether its powerfull enough. Developers have a choice on where to spend system resources. Since XsX games have to run on X1X, the games arent really pushing the hardware, so there will be lots of resource left to polish it up. PS5 exclusives, may push graphical fidelity in other ways, more detailed models, more effects, more characters onscreen etc. Im confident cross platform games will be comparable on both machines.
@daveh30 You do realise that there was a VR game in Decembers line up? Quickly snap up Hyper Void before the month ends and download the free VR upgrade.

Not disappointed at all with the PSVR2

Re: Guide: PS Portal FAQ - All Your Questions Answered
@Waffles12415 the 15mbps is Upload on the network your PS5 is on, and 15mbps Download for the network the protal is on.
If they are both on the same network, it wont matter if you have 1mbps, as the data stream wont leave your local network.

Re: Where to Pre-Order PlayStation Portal
@Vacuumator A paid subscription is not needed. You must have an active PSN account, but you dont need PSplus.
Re: Where to Pre-Order PlayStation Portal
@VaultGuy415 Lack of games? Are you ok? PS5 has the best library of games anywhere, so therefor so does this.
Re: Where to Pre-Order PlayStation Portal
@thefourfoldroot1 Remote play works very well. Ive been using it for 10 years.
