I wouldn't say developers today don't have talent, pride or laziness. Games now don't fit into 4K cartridges like they used to. However these are bugs I would expect on the open PC platform, where there are so many variables on setups. A closed system such as a console should give devs a smoother landscape to develop and test on, since every system is the same. That being said, Alien: Isolation has been bug free for me, and so have most games I've purchased on consoles.
Ubi must have known about these for some time. I'm surprised they went ahead with it anyway. The game is only a day old and news like this can't be good. It went from "must have" to "I'll get to it eventually". No doubt I will get the game, but I don't feel the urgency for it now.

Alternating between Alien: Isolation, The Last of Us Factions, and GTA V (both online and off).

I'm no developer. Just a gamer.
