12 outta 15. Not bad for someone who's only played 1 and a half of its games (definitely wasn't random lucky guesses)

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Tears of the Kingdom took me over a year with on and off playing, meanwhile I hammered out Cyberpunk over december/early January, so about 5-6 weeks, and Shadow of the Erd Tree was also consumed within a month when that came out. I think rebirth took 3-4 months, so ye a bit all over the place with me.

I've already played it. It's a great game but as I've already played 3 and 4 before it I'm a smidge burnt out on the formula.
I'd still recommend it to any racing game fan.

My hope is for E-Day on ps5 and the MC Collection on Switch 2, pretty cool we're living in this reality for once. Down with exclusives!

@AdamNovice That would have been neat, I actually preferred her to Atrues. Me and my brother often laugh that Thor and Kratos should swap kids as they suit each other more 😅

My two most anticipated games of 2025 (unless Witcher 4 or Project Robot miraculously make it) so that's cool. Don't really need more info on them besides a release date mind you.

I personally have nothing against far in advance announcements for games (so long as it's just an announcement and not gameplay or something).
Same with CD Project Red with the Witcher 4, 1 remake, cyberpunk sequel etc. so long as they're not showing the game itself I think it's a good thing a lot of the time, gets everyone on the same page.

I mean I'm tired of horizon but what do we expect Sony to do? Not make money off a profitable franchise?

Out if everything announced that has a shot of hitting a 2025 release date, Doom is probably my number one followed by Expedition 33.

2XKO, Expedition 33, Doom the Dark Ages, Split Fiction and Nightreign for me.
Also looking forward to ReAnimal, Little Nightmares 3 and Pirate Yakuza.
Highly doubtful Project Robot or the Witcher 4 is dropping in 2025 but they'd top my list if by some miracle they did.

@Shinnok789 there is a lot of negativity towards this and from software in general, usually underserved as with most negativity against most Devs these days.
Personally I see no problem with stuff like this, hell I champion having more 'asset flip' games like Majora's mask and New Vegas.

@NeonTiger too be fair this doesn't look like canon lore, so they may as well get wild with it.

@RBMango I think it's a similar thing to what From Software and Christopher Nolan are going through nowadays, people are just fed up with them being good and are ready for the downfall. They're looking for excuses to bring them crashing down.

Overall 260 something hours, a lot more than I thought.

For me the only games that I'd consider 'essential' are Elden Ring (admittedly a cross gen game) and Baldurs Gate 3 (haven't finished it, don't know if I ever will, but it is great. Wish it came out when I was a teenager).
Games like Astro Bot, Stellar Blade, GOW Valhalla come close ISH to being essential.
There's Resident Evil 4 of course but that's a remake. A good one though.

But it is only 'our' God Of War that matters!

@Balaam_ handhelds aren't for everyone, that's fair. For me it's nice to have when someone else has the TV and I just don't care about what they put on (which is fairly often 😅)

I would be very, very interested in both a playstation and an Xbox handheld in vein of the steam deck, so long as it's not a streaming handheld like the portal (not for me). It would also be very cool if they could be played on the big screen much like the switch and steam deck, even if the docks or cables are sold separate.
I've been tempted many times to buy a steam deck but I've always felt that because I've left it a bit late an updated version will be out somewhat soon.

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare 'video game' is a broad term. Typically means something you play digitally, which an expansion counts as.

Contents content, If a dlc out does 'full' games then there really shouldn't be a problem in it winning awards over them.

@Tchunga Shadow of the erd tree came out this year though, not two years ago, and has beaten Dragons Dogma 2 (and almost all the other noms) in every way (reviews scores, sales etc).
Of course it's fine to prefer Dragon Dogma 2, but Erd Tree has had the bigger impact and realistically should be in contention for the best game content of the year over other 'full' games.

Contents content. I think this is great news. I mean there is almost certainly more of a difference in budget and scope between Astro Bot and rebirth than there is Erd Tree and Black Myth so what's the problem? And if there is should indies be excluded from goty lists too? Just seems like a technicality at best, something people have taken to moan about again.

I mean I support them when they come around but I alone can't get a game to sell a million copies. If a game is gonna sell bad, it's gonne sell bad regardless as to whatever I do.

Expansions or full games, at the end of the day they're both still game content and should be judged equally. Expansions like Erdtree, Blood and wine, Shattered isles and future redeemed are just as worthy of praise as a astro bot. Very happy about that change this year, and yes my vote shall be going to erdtree!

I'd be thrilled if e-day makes it's way to playstation, it's the only upcoming game they have that interests me (outside of doom the dark ages).
I wouldn't say no to the MCC though.

Maybe when I was a teenager I would have reluctantly caved if my friends where playing some cod early or something but not now, got bigger things to worry about than playing a game day one.

I'm not against another studio creating their own tale in that world. But a high bar has been set for whomever they are, edgerunners was a classic.

Always figured this game would be niche.
I reckon 1 million sales in it's launch window with a lifetime sales of 3. The price isn't helping, it might make sense with it's budget, but a lot of people don't see platformers as £60 worthy. (I'm still picking it up mind you 👍)

Too be honest this gen hasn't been an exciting one (my opinion of course), so the idea of spending all that on another console when the one I've got doesn't feel like it's getting it's money worth is a hard sell.
And for what we're getting the price does simple feel way too high.

I think when he says original IP he means mainstream IP. Which too be fair they don't have many. They only really started hitting mainstream with their games last of us 1 onwards (outside of Gran Turismo)

Is no 60 fps really a deal breaker now? I don't get it. It's nice, but it hardly makes or breaks a game.

Reanimal was the only game that got me excited, which is what I predicted so I guess the conference didn't underdeliver for me.
The Goat simulator trailer was pretty good though, not my kinda game but I enjoyed that showing.

Tarsiars new game is the only announced thing I wanna see.
I'm highly doubtful Expedition 33 or Sliksong will be there but that would be very cool.
I'm excited for Metpahor, Doom, Plucky Squire and Wisdom of Echoes but I don't care to see any more previews from them, I'm sold already.
Overall can't say I'm excited for this and I'm not sure if they can get me to be, but I shall check out tarsiers new game 100%

If they had this stance around the time of origins I may not have gotten serious burn out and could very well still be a fan. But I think I've had enough AC for one lifetime now.

I use to be huge into this series back in the early days but I've mostly fallen off them years ago so I'm missing quite a few of them.

When it comes to soulslikes I almost completely just play the from softwares ones. I've had a little go here and there of others but I've never properly gotten into them (unless something like Hollow Knight counts).
So overall I'm nowhere near burnt out and ready for more!

That's pretty cool. Haven't got the game but I've been interested for a while.
Any word on if that three v three can be played locally for online play, or would I only be able too team up with online players? Cos if I can team up locally then I'd buy it today.
