Re: Mini Review: Yakuza 0 Director's Cut (PS5) - A Questionable Cash Grab of a Classic

@Mr_Singh that’s what I did, and cannot complain. You’ll have a good time for sure. As for the difficulty goes on the platinum trophies, it’s mostly due to the framerate changes on the newer gen platforms. Older gen platforms ran around 30fps, and it made “choices” or commands easier, giving you that extra second. It also affecting input speeds, even though you tell it “X”, at the perfect time, sometimes it won’t recognize it and pretend you didn’t push the button. This is what causes the roughness in platinum or 100%, so if you could, I’d play everything up to Like A Dragon(#7) on PS4, then the rest on PS5 or other similar platform.

I’m a sub guy through and through, I used to watch anime in the 90’s DUB only, but I changed after around ‘05-ish. It’s a personal preference but I enjoy the emotional expressions in SUB vs DUB(this doesn’t pertain to everything though). So if you watch anime, the voice actor for Kiryu doing funny voices is hilarious lol. A good example is “Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun”. Not berating YongYea(long time subscriber since his Metal Gear Solid days), but even he knows and has admitted, he doesn’t compare, but he does very well.

@Mr_Singh as for someone very similar in your shoes, here’s what I can offer you. Everything anyone says will be basically valid. You can literally play this series in any way, any platform and in any order and have a great time. So here we go…

If you’re after the story only, and could care less for side missions, mini games or backstories. Start with Yakuza 0(I can’t say anything about the Director Cut, so we’ll pretend it doesn’t exist), then Kiwami 1-2, 3-6, then release order. IShin however, is a bonus, but once you get the hang of each character, play it after 6…

If you want the Platinum(prepare to rage), or 100%, start with Kiwami 1-2, then follow release order.

I started with 0, then Kiwami 1-2, then release order. I have almost 100% all of them, minus my 2nd play through of Yakuza 3, because I skipped a couple side missions, and Kiwami 2, because of 1 damn song…if you know, then you know… personally I’m not regretting that choice, but without spoilers, there’s a few tie-ins and Easter eggs that follow release order better. Once you play you’ll understand. Nothing game breaking but it’ll make more sense to follow release order

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Believes Exclusives Make Consoles 'Sing'

Mr_RC

I prefer exclusive games. Competition has always pushed others to grow. I think having multiplayer games like Helldivers, and ARC Raiders should be multi platform ofc. Single player and co-op games should remain exclusive to the platform. There’s tons of debates, about affordability, hardware, the platform their friends own. But if we take that away, we might as well stick with pc.

Re: NiGHTS Comes to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for Free on Christmas Eve

Mr_RC

Wow that brings back memories, NIGHTS was one of the 6 games I owned on the Saturn, even though there were only 7 lol, jk. I think I had Virtual Fighter, Virtual Cop, Knights, Sega Rally, and Clockwork Knights I think it’s called, can’t remember the other one.

Would be neat to see a modern version of those games. Maybe that’s part of Sega’s “secret” we keep hearing about

Re: Vince Zampella, Call of Duty Co-Creator and Respawn Boss, Tragically Dies Aged 55

Mr_RC

Condolences to the families of the deceased.

@Dogbreath very true. I saw the videos including the one that had the ejected person. It didn’t show up close or unless it was edited, but the ones watching did some talking, one put up a video explaining the tunnel and how unsafe it was. But yeah with today’s social media it can be difficult to know the real truth. People should obey safety traffic laws regardless, those signs aren’t a “recommendation”, which is why I take my cars to the strip or auto cross, one day eventually to a larger track like Laguna. It’s sad when death occurs, but to be real, this was reckless, it could have been way worse

Re: Now It's Battlefield 6's Turn to Face Accusations of Generative AI Usage

Mr_RC

@naruball that’s more or less where I’m at. I appreciate AI for what it can do, it’s a great tool. Using AI for landscaping in a fantasy world, helping creative minds with their imagination to create creatures or items, and as one person stated “code and spelling errors”. I don’t believe it should be used fully in creativity or other works like voice acting. Just as Ashley Birch said, “it’s not the technology that’s the problem, it’s the misuse by the companies.”

And yeah, unfortunately people are quick to jump in the fight before they know where to aim, “HELL YEAH! Let’s f*ck’em up!…Btw what’re we doing?” If restrictions are set for how AI is applied, I think everyone could be on the same page.

Re: An Open World Spaghetti Western Survival Game for PS5? Sign Us the Hell Up Right Now

Mr_RC

I’m not sure what everyone’s gripe is. If you take away the “survival” what else do you have? The answer is Red Dead Redemption. Would kind of defeat the purpose.

I always thought about a western styled survival game. Unfortunately from what is shown, granted it’s pre-alpha, this game is going to miss quite a bit. I’ve never liked “premade building”, just felt lazy. Weapon handling is rough, ignoring the obvious pre-alpha, but that bow looked bad. Cowboys didn’t always use guns, so hopefully they show more variety of weapons and tools. The wagons shown I believe were called prairie wagons? They were used to haul people and supplies but depending on what you hauled and your location, would depend on the wagons and if it were ox, horse, or mule. Hopefully they dive a little deeper with wagon variations, and allow customization to them. Also, not every westerner looked like they had chaps, button up shirt, and wore the iconic Stetsons. A good chunk looked dirty greasy farmers lol. I guess for me I would much rather see a game like this feel more authentic, and not attempt at a Red Dead Survival game. There’s also the wolf slap… I mean, where’s the bite lol

Re: Promising Anime Arcade Racer Screamer Opens Up PS5 Pre-Orders

Mr_RC

Long time Racer and car nut, it’s difficult for me to say no to a racing game. Wished I had played them all but life happens… So much to say here, but I am really intrigued in this design of gaming. I told my bro that if NFS would stick to this new “comic style” they’d have something unique. And now a racing game with an anime style? Pfft hell yeah, I love anime. I do hope there’s like a story, and it’s pretty decent. I’m hoping for a Cyberpunk Edgerunner vibe. It’s been a minute since I’ve purchased a Collector’s Edition, this one might be my next one
