@Richnj also the Witcher 3 being included in gamepass is also helping sales as whoever never got into it or never bought it could get a free trial and try it out if ya like it you can buy it with an extra 20% off with gamepass. Despite unpopular beliefs gamepass sky rockets game sales I know this because the developers for The Descenders were shocked of how much the game is selling while it being on gamepass so much so they couldn't show the exact graph because it would make it look like the game wasn't selling at all before gamepass.
@dpkramer88 no it wouldn't but the option is nice like say you want to play split screen but don't want to pay for a new 70$ next gen controller and just use ur old xb1 controller. Or if you don't have a next gen console yet but want the features of the next gen controller you can use the new controller on the Xbox one, another reason is the Xbox series x doesn't have a elite controller designed for it yet and it's nice that you can use your 100-180$ Xbox elite or elite series 2 controller on next gen. I can see why it doesn't make sense in your vision but your talking about two controllers with major differences where the snes controller is super outdated compared to the n64 controller because the n64 made a revolutionary change to analog sticks but now you can use a wii controller on a wii u and a nentendo switch, and you can also use a wii u pro controller on switch. So Sony and Microsoft making different controllers compatible with different consoles takes direct inspiration from nentendo.

@manux59 well it does when the Xbox series s/ project Lockhart is rumored to only be 200$ and be fully capable of playing next gen games at 1440p@60fps and 4k@30 or more fps. And is also meant for people that can't take full advantage of the series x and don't have a 1'000$ plus 4k 120hz tv in there living room. There's a bonus too it's likely to include 3 months of gamepass to jumpstart your digital games collection if this is all true the series s will be a HUGE hit for sure. Price definitely matters. The reason why the ps3 launch was a disaster and one of the main reasons why the original xb1 launch was a disaster.
@nessisonett I have to agree with you on this one Konami already butchered metal gear solid with metal gear survive for me Konami should really give up on metal gear, silent hill, etc they've lost way too much to keep going on those franchises they need to make new stuff to stay afloat imo
