Re: 'People Are Less Willing to Pay': Dev Speaks Out Against Day One Releases on PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass

@Flaming_Kaiser Yea… so use some critical thinking here on what you said. What is really devaluing gaming? Free games filled with MTs or Gamepass? Because Gamepass is at least giving many developers an avenue of being paid up front and presenting an unknown IP to millions straight at launch, when the majority of gamers wouldn’t even give them a second glance.

@Flaming_Kaiser if a game is great I will play no matter if it’s on Gamepass or not. I bought Split Fiction, MHW, The Midnight Walk, Mario Kart World all at launch so far this year. I have a good handful of games I am planning on grabbing at launch coming Borderlands 4, Killing Floor 3, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and Yotei to name just a few. $20 for gamepass isn’t breaking the bank and will still give me the games I am really looking forward to like Outer Worlds 2, Ninja Gaiden 4, BlackOps, Grounded 2, High on Life 2 and loads of others. I’m never starved for games.

Thing with Gamepass is it allows me to play more games. I sure as hell wouldn’t be buying all these games, that would be A TON of money. So it would come down to picking through the games and waiting on others. And I feel like a lot of others would be in that boat as well. So really is there much of a difference other than people with Gamepass can play the games out right at launch? It also allows me to buy more games outside of the sub since $20 isn’t all that much. But than you factor in time to play them all…. How many games release a week? Like 20? It’s all become way too bloated.

Re: Fans Discuss the Reason Behind DOOM: The Dark Ages' Lukewarm Opening

What is a price people would pay for a SP focused shooter? I got 30 hrs out of 100% Doom Dark Ages. I was addicting to the play style. Played through on Nightmare and absolutely loved it. It runs great and has great production. I guess you could put it on the easiest setting and breezed through the game but why? That’s not how Doom is supposed to be played. Maybe Doom should get rid of the easier settings, the lowest setting should be hard and than go up from there. Much like FromSoft games and even Returnal. If they weren’t challenging they wouldn’t be fun.

This is the 5th time Bungie has been busted for plagiarism. It’s sad to see how this once mighty studio has fallen. Was my favorite developer back in the Halo days. Also I put hrs into the Arc Raiders tech test and it was fantastic. Everything I’ve heard from people that got a chance to play Marathon was either “meh” to “it’s bad”. Good luck Bungie, I hope they can somehow come back from all this but I am guessing they will be next on the chopping block.

@Johnion the one’s trying to force their views on the art. You. Much like a church attacks anything they don’t agree with. If you don’t like it move along, but instead you attack it and try to force the artists and developers to make something you want. Which from what I can gather is a bland, corporate cutout of safety so not to upset your feelings. Both sides seem to want safe bland characters that meet a certain requirement whether it comes to appearance, how they speak, sexuality, gender etc. soon we will end up with what you all want. Boring ass characters or silent ones. Which I guess won’t be entirely bad because people will just turn back to indies to find more interesting and compelling characters.
