Well deserved. Easily my Game of the Year. I really hope they see this as a tentpole franchise moving forward and we get a sequel in the not so distant future.

@UltimateOtaku91 It's actually a very reasonable price for what we are getting. People seem to forget this is a handheld and should be compared to products such as the Steamdeck rather than the PS5.

The issue I have is them leapfrogging the £70 price tag which Sony established (which we should mention if we want to talk about hubris). If they raised their game prices to be in line with this generation it would be fine. Anymore than that feels a bit cheeky. Luckily I'm in the UK and retailers are already selling these games for below MRSP.

I have a Switch 2 preordered with Amazon but I'm toying with the idea of cancelling it. At the moment I only really want it to play the upgraded versions of BOTW and TOTK. Is it worth it just for that...?

I very rarely buy at launch these days (with the exception of Monster Hunter). I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and am still waiting for a bigger discount on Rebirth. £30 - £35 is about my sweet spot.

There are so many games and so little time to play them that if you manage to get over the initial hype FOMO of new releases, waiting really isn't that difficult.

@DonJorginho That isn't my experience at all. I own both and much prefer the Portal for streaming. The shape is more ergonomic, the haptics are much better and the screen is bigger. Also, the interface is cleaner and snappier than using Chiaki4Deck.

The OLED steam deck also has this really annoying bug where the streaming quality will drop 10 minutes into playing and you need to reconnect to get it working OK again. They need to sort that.

Don't get me wrong, I love both devices, but after getting a portal I'm finding it hard to go back to streaming on the deck.

Woke nonsense means the game will never sell. Go woke and go broke. They are lying to us about sales numbers. That's players not sales! The microtransactions are egregious. It's not selling well enough to save the company.

Where will the grifters go next? We should start a bingo card. Can you imagine the amount of holes in their pitch considering the number of times the goalposts have been moved. It must look like Swiss cheese by now.

The game has clearly done well. Whether it has done well enough remains to be seen. I hope so as I feel like rooting for a the failure of a company that produces many decent games, and employs lots of people in the industry, is utter insanity. It's like these people want the market to retract.

Big month. Indy, 33 and Doom are all tempting but my backlog is huge.

It's certainly coming. I'm very excited about it as I find Oblivion just too dated to go back to now.

The real question is will it release simultaneously on all consoles? I think we are very close to Xbox Studios games releasing on Playstation at launch. Mad times we are living in.

@PloverNutter What is even weirder is that it has been that way for several games going back to 3 Ultimate (that's when i started). Item Box at the exit of each area. Very strange decision.

I'm obsessed with this game at the minute.

These are great to hear but my favourite is easier restocking of items. Having to go into my tent to do it each time is a real pain.

Pentiment is a top 10 of all time for me. It's very story heavy and gameplay light, but such a fantastic experience.

I just imagine one guy chained to his desk forced to crank these games out yearly. The productivity is insane.

@themightyant I haven't thought about Edge in years. Thanks for this, I've just checked there website and there is an offer for the first 3 issues at £1. Snapped that up.

Great choice on Ray Dau as the arch-tempered. Probably my favourite new monster.

@graymamba You can't win. I work with a guy on the right-wing grift train and he has been proved wrong on so many occasions that his current defense is 'if I dont see it with my own eyes then I don't believe it'.

I feel sorry for the strain these poor people must have on their backs considering how many goal posts they move on a daily basis.

Good on Ubisoft for getting this win. The game looks great and if I didn't have so much in my backlog I'd pick it up. I'm sure I will at some point.

@kcarnes9051 I seem to recall the developers stating that the camera movements in menus can be turned off if they are too much for you.

@Lowdefal Perhaps I should have specified further. I meant a crash in AAA gaming. Although a retraction may be more accurate. Either way the suits making the decisions need to wake up.

The industry is straight up broken when a game can sell 4-5 million copies and be perceived as a flop. There is a huge amount of developers/ publishers that would love these numbers. Stop inflating budgets/ expectations or we are headed for a crash. It's unsustainable.

@Overmind Ah nice, good to hear. The only trophies i didn't get for World/ Rise were the crowns. Too much of a grind. Looks like I'll get the plat for this one.

@species Surprisingly well. I'm not sure anything beats keyboard and mouse for these games but the way they have adapted it is very impressive.

So glad this turned out well. Going to be my next purchase.

@ErrantRob I know what you mean. I tried to watch WWE when they signed with Netflix and it was just over-produced, over-commercialised rubbish. Maybe it's a nostalgia goggles thing but it seems like a different product entirely these days.

This isn't usually my type of game, but since it is developed by the same guy as Stanley Parable I may have to give it a go.

That's awesome. Great to see both Suikoden and Two Point Museum on there also. In the words of the immortal Vincent Caravella: 'There has never been a better time to play video games'.

@B0udoir You're onto something with the HDR tweaking. I've just lowered shadow and detail brightness and it looks much better.

I'm struggling a bit with it. The story is so uninteresting. It's just making me want to play through World/ Iceborne again. Bare bones story at 60 fps.

People are desperate to hate this game aren't they? Its almost comical.

@AK4tywill Sound advice. Choice paralysis is a real thing that I have been known to struggle with. You've convinced me to hold off and focus on what I'm currently playing.

I'm really debating Robo Cop at that price despite not being a fan of the IP (never seen it). I have a huge backlog already though so I really shouldn't...

@Mikey856 Apparently you can see if the monster is a crown when starting the hunt now. Should make those trophies much simpler to obtain.

There is not enough software that appeals to me to warant it.

@DennisReynolds Yep it's broken. My first question was can I still play my playstation? They called me sad and then did me a customised cast so I can still hold a controller. God bless the NHS.

@ButterySmooth30FPS You should start with World. It's dirt cheap these days and has a smooth on boarding process for new players (mostly smooth anyway). It's also a brilliant game in its own right.

@Darude84 I see that sentiment a lot. People need to get over the fact that generations are no longer as strict as they used to be. Incremental upgrades are the natural progression of things. When the PS6 comes out most of those games will be playable on PS5.

@Boxmonkey It's fair enought if those IPs do not interest you but they are huge system selling games.

If none of those appeal to you then, again, that's fine. However saying there are no interesting AAA games this gen is misguided at best and disingenuous at worst.

I know most of these are available on PS4 also but that's the way things are going. Generations aren't defined as tightly as they used to be. These are all current generation games.

Sales for this thing were always going to drop after the launch period. Entusiasts have already bought in.

It's simply way too much money when sitting on the shelf next to the base PS5 at nearly half the price.

@Mikey856 Just wait until we start seeing Halo and Gears of War on there. Crazy times.
