Re: Slitterhead (PS5) - Inventive Horror Is Essential for Japan Studio Fans

Lol well this site can never be accused of following the crowd that's for sure iv just read a 4/10 and a 5/10 with both pretty much saying its a piece of crap in so many words. Last two games iv been interested in have been the other way round with elsewhere praising. And again I'm at a loss about who to believe!maybe I put too much importance on reviews I dunno.

Re: Life Is Strange: Double Exposure (PS5) - Hallmark Series Loses Its Charm

Once again this site just leaves me confused. I know people like different things but iv just read two absolutely gushing reviews of this-ign and destructoid, and this one seems like it's for a different game. And my initial thought is well maybe he just doesn't like these types of games but that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't know I guess that's just life different things hit for different people.

@johncalmc I hear you. It's a matter of preference I suppose. I mean I suppose it's a criticism you could level at several vns some benefit from the meandering slice of life sections-some could argue it fleshes out the characters more. Maybe die hard would be improved if more dialogue was spoken by the characters. Would be a different movie not necessarily a worse. Would pulp fiction be a better movie without the characters musings on mcdonalds in other countries, pilot shows mia starred in,whether it's right to eat pig amongst many more. None of them drive the plot forward in the way you describe bit still add to the work.

@KundaliniRising333 it's the lowest I couldn't find another 5. Couple sixes and a seven gamer and game bible positively gush about it as do bloody disgusting eurogamer 3/5 which I guess you could call a six the general voices iv read seem to be more complimentary. Not that it matters I only say it to contest your assertion that it's overwhelmingly negative. If this or any other reviewer disagrees that's fine too we are all allowed to like different things.

Yes it's reviewing better elsewhere with one site calling it supermassives finest work. I remember the quarry review on this site getting a similar score and it transpired the man who wrote that review was on a tight schedule and had to play it all at once pretty much. I would argue that a situation like that would impact the game more-with the annoying bits seeming more annoying and such simply because of the situation the reviewer found himself in having to consume it all at once. Most gamers wouldn't play a game like this like that-more probably taking it in a smaller hour or two increments. I do believe factors like this can effect how one enjoys a game and I don't know if there's even a solution for it but I do feel it's a point worth consideration.

Re: Bloober Team Says Silent Hill 2 Remake Its 'Most Important Test'

Gravytrain

Is a bit of a lose lose for them. Its so highly thought of by some that any major changes will be seen as sacrilege but they have to bring some of there own creativity to the project otherwise why bother with a remake-just update the technical aspects. I played Blair witch quite enjoyed it-one aspect they are strong on is atmosphere and silent hill has always been big on that too so I'm optimistic myself.
