@crimsontadpoles is it really good?iv never done any turn based tactical type games so that's the only thing I'm cautious about. Is it easy enough for a beginner to get to grips with?
I'm getting a switch I think. Not one for handhelds but I gather you can put them on a tv so il do that. Yes it was this hundred line game that made me consider it,then I found out the new ai the somnium is switch only so as an uchikoshi fan that tipped me over the edge. The latest famicom detective vn looks good too.
Lol well this site can never be accused of following the crowd that's for sure iv just read a 4/10 and a 5/10 with both pretty much saying its a piece of crap in so many words. Last two games iv been interested in have been the other way round with elsewhere praising. And again I'm at a loss about who to believe!maybe I put too much importance on reviews I dunno.
@MrHabushi now I wasn't keen on true colors as a fan of the others. It's worth noting that reviews for this are all over the place ranging from 10s right down to 4s so I wouldn't put all your faith in this one review.
Once again this site just leaves me confused. I know people like different things but iv just read two absolutely gushing reviews of this-ign and destructoid, and this one seems like it's for a different game. And my initial thought is well maybe he just doesn't like these types of games but that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't know I guess that's just life different things hit for different people.
@johncalmc I hear you. It's a matter of preference I suppose. I mean I suppose it's a criticism you could level at several vns some benefit from the meandering slice of life sections-some could argue it fleshes out the characters more. Maybe die hard would be improved if more dialogue was spoken by the characters. Would be a different movie not necessarily a worse. Would pulp fiction be a better movie without the characters musings on mcdonalds in other countries, pilot shows mia starred in,whether it's right to eat pig amongst many more. None of them drive the plot forward in the way you describe bit still add to the work.
@KundaliniRising333 update-yes there are a few more 5s now. I'm really perplexed with this one. A few more iv seen seem to really like it-2 say it's as good if not better than until dawn but those who dislike it seem to think it's dog *****!I'm really on the fence.
@KundaliniRising333 it's the lowest I couldn't find another 5. Couple sixes and a seven gamer and game bible positively gush about it as do bloody disgusting eurogamer 3/5 which I guess you could call a six the general voices iv read seem to be more complimentary. Not that it matters I only say it to contest your assertion that it's overwhelmingly negative. If this or any other reviewer disagrees that's fine too we are all allowed to like different things.
Yes fair enough. Just remembered the quarry reviewer saying that in the comments and wondered if a similar thing had happened here seems I was incorrect.
Yes it's reviewing better elsewhere with one site calling it supermassives finest work. I remember the quarry review on this site getting a similar score and it transpired the man who wrote that review was on a tight schedule and had to play it all at once pretty much. I would argue that a situation like that would impact the game more-with the annoying bits seeming more annoying and such simply because of the situation the reviewer found himself in having to consume it all at once. Most gamers wouldn't play a game like this like that-more probably taking it in a smaller hour or two increments. I do believe factors like this can effect how one enjoys a game and I don't know if there's even a solution for it but I do feel it's a point worth consideration.
Why did they remove the rewind mechanic though?really fun part of the first game that was sorely missing from subsequent games in my opinion. Would have been an easy win to just have that but they've changed it for what looks to be a less compelling power.
@Drago201 I think one actress posted that she had gone back and done more new work on the game so I guess some will have been paid more. Doubt they'll have been able to get remi malek back in though.
@TicklefistCP just looked at the metaphor trailer after reading your comment. Looks great if that's your thing I don't think it's mine sadly. I'm close to giving a persona a try as iv never played one but I'm unsure If they'll be for me.
Is a bit of a lose lose for them. Its so highly thought of by some that any major changes will be seen as sacrilege but they have to bring some of there own creativity to the project otherwise why bother with a remake-just update the technical aspects. I played Blair witch quite enjoyed it-one aspect they are strong on is atmosphere and silent hill has always been big on that too so I'm optimistic myself.
The fact its easier than previous games does appeal my worry is that it will come across as a sub standard Ghosts Of Tsushima as iv only quite recently played and been impressed by that.
I will indeed be buying this today. Although I just started Gnosia and guessed who gnosia was so I think il finish that first. After that though it's Pentiment time for sure.
@Th3solution agree used to have a friend, dead now as it happens, who loved all nintendo games cause they were 'fun'. Mario,Mario cart and all them. Couldn't get into any of them myself so they weren't fun to me. An engaging adult narrative is what tends to draw me into games and is what I enjoy in them.
Must play this game. Bit nervous to dive in as I'm a bit intimidated by all the systems and menus and whatnot-im typically a story game player-naughty dog games, god of war and such but I can't keep hearing how great this is and not at least give it a go.

Re: Mini Review: The Casting of Frank Stone (PS5) - A Stripped Back Version of the Supermassive Formula
@KundaliniRising333 if the average is 69 might as well calk it a seven I'd say that's a step up from a 5 rated game.
