As soon as people see side by side comparisons it’ll fly off the shelves.
The PS4Pro was mainly for people upgrading to a 4K TV. Now everyone has 4K TVs. So now everyone is a potential buyer, when we all can chose NOT having to chose between Fidelity and Performance with added RT features on top.
It will sell better than the PS4Pro and I think people underestimate the impact of more RT features.
Yeah, it will probably be somewhere in the 4070 range. But we don’t know how PSSR and frame gen will work.
Including RT, I am sure the Pro will perform very well.
Both the base and Pro will continue to progress and deliver amazing looking games. However it is not realistic not to expect some concession regarding image quality and RT on the base system - no matter how much time and effort is put in to the development.
Yes we are only beginning to see the base machines capabilities being tapped into, but it is clear they come with a price.
It would be unrealistic to expect that the PS5 can deliver twice the frame rate, several times the pixel count AND a host of next gen features at once, compared to previous gen. If so, the PS5 would have been 1000$ at launch.
Something’s gotta give and that is what is increasingly happening.
This is why we need a Pro console, for those of us who wants to stay on the PlayStation platform, but does not want to comprise with image quality and frame rate to get next gen visual features and fidelity.
