I just finished Talos 1 and jumped into Talos 2 right away. The default controls threw me as they are different from the original. Also the new one does not seem to have any haptic feedback whereas the first one did. You’d think a PS5 version would take advantage of the new controller.
To me, more important than faster frames would be faster loading times on a PS5 port. For a game where dying lots is inevitable (at least for new players) it’s a slog to have to wait for the game to load back up each time. Please just patch that and I’d be happy!
The set design on this show is so ridiculously good and super detailed. Todd’s Grill is a great example. Down to the wall art and banners etc. Felt and looked just like the game!
I did like that they showed a lot more of David’s community but the fact that no one shows up when Todd’s Grill starts to burn felt strange. For me, this episode was missing the sense of desperation and fear of the unknown for Joel as he is making his way to Ellie. I missed hearing the school bell ringing and the fog and the encounters. In the show it just moved way too fast. Joel was near comatose in one minute, and the next he finds her backpack and shows up at the butchery. This episode did not deserve to be the second shortest.
@kingbreww How long have you owned a PS5? Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts for sure, but if you’re going to throw out a 6 out of 10, you should at least mention whether or not this is coming from someone with actual experience or someone that may be upset that they can’t actually procure one. For what it’s worth, I got mine on launch day at 4am EST after staying up all night. 10 out of 10 from me and I agree with you that the number is based on the games that I’ve played over the past 12 months.
With Valve suggesting that they and Sony will have “things” to announce in the near future and all the noise about Sony PS exclusives heading to PC…. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some new partnership with Sony and Valve to compete with MS. I would love if I could buy a game for my PS5 and then get to play it for free on Steam via Steamdeck. That would be Amazing!
