Re: Sony's Latest HMZ-T3 Headset Will Cost You a Measly £1,300

@Epic Not the fairest comparison - the screens in this headset are OLEDs, with gorgeous colour, perfect contrast and amazing response time that trump any LCD or plasma (though admittedly only 720p). The cheapest OLED TV you can buy right now is US$9000 (can't seem to find the £ price yet).

Re: What Third-Party Games Do You Want on PlayStation? Tell Sony's New Division

@dpriest This is just for third-party titles, so inFamous and Killzone don't belong here (though I would also kill to have them on Vita). Dark Souls... that game requires some fine balance, and I'm worried that Vita's lack of L2/R2 and L3/R3 and probable touchscreen/touchpad replacements would play havoc with that - I'd prefer a Souls game built for Vita from the ground up, designed around its controls.

Fallout 3/NV, though? HELL yes. the many menus - VATS, traders/merchants, dialogue - would be so much better with the touchscreen. Plus, y'know, all those other awesome things about Fallout. On that note, chuck in Oblivion and Skyrim. And Morrowind, that could run on the Vita easily.

Let's see.

  • To The Moon. Beautiful game, but playing it on PC feels like trying to read a great book in a browser. I want to curl up in bed or on the couch with it, and the Vita is perfect for that.
  • Kingdom Hearts. Obviously ports of I and II would be great, but what I'd like is for Birth by Sleep - still unplayable on Vita due to never ending up on the PS Store - to get a 544p60 Vita port, for Dream Drop Distance to get the same, and for them to be released together for Vita.
  • Street Fighter. All of it - SSF2T HD Remix, Third Strike Online, and - when it hits next year - Ultra Street Fighter 4.
  • Resident Evil Revelations. That fact that it's on everything but Vita is, frankly, dumb. It was made as a portable title, it belongs on the Vita. Resident Evil 4 too. That's on every major platform, it would likely be simple to port to the Vita and would look fantastic.
  • Final Fantasy Type-0 really needs a Western release, and at this point it might as well get a Vita port. It's a Final Fantasy game, it would easily sell.
  • Either get FF7: Crisis Core on the PS Store with Vita compatibility, or port it to Vita. Maybe port Dirge of Cerberus too and sell them as a single-card collection.
  • Get a Vita-exclusive entry in the Souls franchise, designed around the controls for the sake of balance. I even have a nice title - Wandering Souls.
  • I'd love to see Mass Effect 3's excellent multiplayer mode released in its entirety as a free-to-play download (it already has a perfectly fair and lucrative microtransaction system built-in) on PS4, PS3 and Vita, with cross-play over those 3 consoles and PC (since it's a co-op game where your individual match score has no real effect the differences between the platforms wouldn't result in major balance problems - plus, you could opt-out of playing with people on certain platforms if you wished). Bit of a pipe dream but I genuinely believe it would make plenty of money and greatly extend the life of what I think is a hugely enjoyable and varied co-op game.
  • Finally, since this would likely be easy to do, an 'id Old-School Collection' for Vita. Ultimate DOOM, DOOM 2, Master Levels For DOOM 2, Final DOOM, and the Heretic/Hexen games, complete with online and ad-hoc multiplayer. Easy for the Vita to run, and immensely fun to this very day.
