Nah. Sony that we knew from late PS3 and early PS4 is dead. The PS5 might have the worst exclusive library for any Sony console, and I can't imagine PS6 being any different considering what Sony's pipeline looks like. $1000 is ridiculous for what is expected of console gaming.

@UltimateOtaku91 I don't think there's as much personal drama here as you like to think. Nintendo funds the development and publishing of these specific games. They likely agreed to a non-compete with PlayStation because Nintendo knows the audience for JRPGs in largely on PlayStation. Nintendo doesn't see Steam as a threat, and certainly not Xbox, so I'm sure there's only a small exclusive window for those platforms. But the exclusive port to Sony consoles is likely a lot longer because Nintendo does see the company as competition. This would explain instances like Octopath Traveler, and Triangle Strategy. Both games Nintendo funded development for.

@get2sammyb I believe back in 2021 there was data that suggested because Nintendo funded development, and publishing of these games, there was a non-compete specifically for PlayStation.

@awp69 I see how you got there, but your point falls short when one entity is a software publisher, and the other is a hardware manufacturer. I don't think I need to tell you this, but I will just in case, there's a big difference between these two companies and how they should handle software strategies.

This game was supposed to be released in 2020, so I'm sure the other actors in the previous build were crushed as well. I would say maybe just don't work with ubi in the future.

It is so bizarre seeing people arguing about something they have no control over, and no stake in. You're really weird if you criticize someone who doesn't like AI. Also, you're just as bad if you lambast someone who's indifferent or accepting of it. This would be more believable if all of the pro AI people were making some serious money from it or something, but your not, so who cares?

I love niche games.

Honestly, I love action JRPGs that shake things up with interesting combat. Tales and Star Ocean are my favorites, especially because it requires more than mostly mashing buttons. This game really has the potential with its combat to do something interesting. I would really like the devs to get an opportunity at a sequel.

I don't really care about this, because I think it's really weird to look at games like this. But I don't like how we make excuses for bad development. It's not the PS5s fault this game looks like this. It's squares.

@8bit4Life disc drives are something like $10 to manufacture. Not to mention how cheap it is for companies to buy in bulk. A disc drive should not be a $100 difference, Sony seems to convince you it is.

It really is Squares fault that XVI and Rebirth have visual, and performance issues on base PS5. The internals are really similar to a 2080 TI, and that's a perfectly capable card for sub 4k resolution with high frame rates. Square is just bad with HD consoles. Not to mention XVI was on the Crystal Tools engine.

@UltimateOtaku91 I disagree. That's parallel to the series consoles, and we know the series s is a bottleneck.

Guys, this game is 4 years old and has been in full swing in Asia this entire time.

Hideo Baba was such a mastermind of this series. It's so cool to see these games get this treatment.

That's just too bad. My copy is still in the mail, but I'm so eager, especially after the good reviews. It's so disappointing we see developers make great games, only to lose their jobs.

Yeah I wouldn't pay that much for any game. Even if it was a remake of something I love like Xenogears, it's just not happening.

@ShogunRok It's been confirmed by Noisy Pixel to be the original tactical turn based affair, and not the hybrid like Day Break.

@Rafie I believe GungHo said it was because or Sony's stringent rules of 4k options on PS4 at the time. I dunno what's changed other than maybe it will now display at 4k.
