@nocdaes I hear you, valid criticisms if those are the kind of things you look for, but let's be honest that kind of stuff is very much diminished throughout the industry and isn't isolated to this game. The Devs have actually said in an interview that pt3 will include true missables and secrets as it's something they've taken from feedback.

Two points from me:

1- personally don't think anyone should really hold any remake that is claiming to be an expanded version to the exact same standards as an original. There's obviously going to be differences and rebirth gets much more right than it does wrong.

2- a remake is almost always going to have a lower metacritic user score than an original. If it has nearly 9 in a format as toxic as user scores then it's definitely done a good job.

Infrequent poster, longtime lurker. I know rebirth isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it seems like it is held to a much higher standard by journalists, particularly this site, than any other game I've ever seen reviewed.

Take the story aside, the gameplay , game direction and production value (minus some performance issues) are insane for a game you could easily spend 120+ hours in.

You have to feel for the Devs, they listened to every bit of criticism remake got and answered them all, even surpassing what most people would have thought they could achieve and still get criticised beyond what is reasonable.

Such a shame, but not a surprise, to see a game so tightly made not get the recognition it deserves.

Merry Christmas everyone anyway, generally love this site and it's a great community, this is just a huge oversight imo.
