Capcom has revealed by way of a new gameplay trailer that the second crossover character in Street Fighter history will be available from 5th February 2025. Mai from the Fatal Fury series is joining Terry Bogard in Street Fighter 6, and you can catch a glimpse of how she plays in the trailer above.
Mai utilises a mixture of familiar and all-new moves to drain her opponent's health bar, from powerplays involving fan throws to fiery kicks and punches. She'll come with two outfits, with the first reminiscent of her classic look and the second emulating her style in future game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, releasing in April 2025.

You can purchase the second skin through either Fighter Coins or by maxing out your bond with her in the World Tour mode. Anyone who owns the Year 2 Character Pass gains instant access to Mai, or you can buy her standalone with Fighter Coins.
Are you looking forward to maining Mai in Street Fighter 6? Let us know in the comments below.

Street Thighter.
Oh boy she can do mixed up with her fire fan that bounce on block and can be overhead.
But she looks great although i hope Mai is the final guest character for SF 6. I don't want to see SF 6 turn into a mess like MK 1 who filled up with silly guest characters.
“My eyes are up here” 👀

Ok damn she sick with it. Definitely excited to try her out after the trailer. Seems like she does have good stuff
Every game now just exists to cross over with another game.
Poor girl gonna have so many chronic back problems.
She’s always been a favorite of mine in the KOF and Fatal Fury games. So I’ll definitely main her in SF6.
Faithfully represented, she looks great.
“Mai Bounces Over to SF6” seems like a missed opportunity, but I guess PushSquare is too classy for that.
@PuppetMaster
Agree. I'm not a fan of guest characters in these classic franchises when there are ones from previous entries missing in the current game. Don't like that Tekken is also doing this.
@PuppetMaster we need a guest character from tekken than that’s it.
Good to see that they did not screw her up in both looks AND gameplay.
@Gamer83 They should just make crossover games like MvC, CvS, SF x Tekken, MK vs DC etc rather than keeps shoving guest characters in a mainline game. And with SF 6 only has 4 DLC characters per season, the slot for classic characters got stolen for guest characters. If there's no Terry and Mai, we probably would get Urien, Dudley, Ibuki, Fei Long, Sagat, Karin or any classic characters that's highly requested by SF fans.
@Jay767 I personally don't want any Tekken character. Capcom should just remaster SF x Tekken or maybe make SF x Tekken 2 to satisfy people who wants Tekken chars fighting against SF chars.
She definitely drains my health bar... 😏
@PuppetMaster
Agree again. I'd love some legit crossover games. A brand new Capcom vs. SNK or something like Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter would be awesome. Much better than wasting limited roster slots in specific games on nonsensical guest characters.
@PuppetMaster it take longer to make crossover games than guest character plus guest characters help sell copies of games.
@Amnesiac The official capcom twitter went there haha
Shes perfect. I didnt expect them to be this faithful to her appearance. Love it
@PuppetMaster I broadly agree. MK's guests feel like they're designed to drive engagement with anything other than the MK universe. Noctis and Negan in Tekken 7 are two of the most tone-deaf additions to a fighting game ever made.
The guests in SF6 are miles away from that nonsense though. For one, Fatal Fury and Terry were created by the same person who created SF and Ken - FF was his spiritual sequel to SF when he moved to SNK. Terry is effectively a rework of Ken. FF and SF have always had broadly similar gameplay and aesthetics as well. Terry looks and plays like a SF character in 6 (his "lane switch" feels more like a visual nod for fans of FF than anything as you rarely see people use it online). Pao-Pao Cafe looks like a Street Fighter stage.
Again, this is all miles away from the nonsense of say Clive (and his stage) in Tekken 8.
Nice to see we still CAN have nice things without some big controversy
I like the overall design of the SF6 characters over SF5. Male and female characters are still exaggerated, but not as much as in SF5. Have you seen how big their feet were in the last game?
She looks amazing.
Thought she was from KOF though?
