Great, another platform to further stretch a company that already can't handle their current builds or fix bugs correctly. If only the guys that developed this had as much of an eye for quality and detail as zen studios. Ah well
I'm actually more worried bout it being thinner. The Vita is the perfect fit for me right now. I'll probably wait until the day before launch of this no doubt cheaper looking product, and grab myself a brand new Vita to keep in storage for when my current one reaches the end of it's life.
Mad love to Sony for using a standard charging and USB port for it though.. didn't expect that.
Yeah... I've never owned more than 4 controllers much less used them. Interesting as to why the capped it though when the PS3 can use 7, maybe the PS4 pads touch pad simply uses too much bandwidth (pure guess I know little about Bluetooth and its limits).
Yeah and it's a tried and tested idea to boot, Epic did it back in 2007 and it worked great. That year I had a PS3 that could run Linux and play games that supported PC made mods and M&K controllers. I was so happy with these turn of events.
I doubt anyone at Dice is reading a small blog site like this, but if you are, M&K support, pretty please!
@CliffordB Which is just ridiculous imo. I kinda understood the first one they did to test the waters with licensed tables and see how much of a return they got (even if I didn't agree with it), but by now they should have their business model together and not need to use Kickstarter as some kind of pre order store. They are taking the piss now.
Farsight care little about the people that keep them in business, they have made that very clear in their actions the last couple of years. I know it's a first world problem to moan about such things and I normally don't, but this is such a crying shame to see these licences be handled by a company like this.
@ShogunRok It's totally fine as long as admins can control this, as in Controller only servers VS M&K only (or even mixed). A game like BF4 there will be enough servers of each type to cater to all.
There is no reason not to include this feature from our point of view.
Man.. I remember back in 2007 when Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 shipped with mouse and keyboard support, and also mod support. The M&K support was well handled too, with admins fully able to disable the support for gamepad only play, and this was clearly listed in the server browser. The game had a bit of a small install base so it did kinda split it a bit, but in a game as massive as B4 this would be a total non issue.
This was a major thing for me, I saw what I thought was a glimpse of the future. At the time my PS3 put my PC to shame and I was glad to have cutting edge visuals with my preferred control method and not have to spend 1000's on a gaming PC.
Fast forward to the present day and that game was a total one off. Please let the new generation be the future of console gaming I though I was getting 7 years ago.
I'd like to be able to turn it off please, at the very least for games that don't use it for anything vital to gameplay. I often game in a dark room and having a glowing light in my hand would be kinda distracting.
I'm pretty sure this will be a popular request so hopefully they'll sort it out.
@JaxonH I agree. I'm a PS fanboy through and through but I was a little sad to see the new PS4 controller after using the almost perfect Wii U Pro controller. That is exactly where the analog sticks should be even if it does take a bit of readjustment to get used to the buttons being below the right stick. The 360 having them A-symmetrical is not ideal either, but I'd still take it over the duel shock.
Still, it's a small issue really when you look at how much the PS4 is doing right. If you already prefer the placement of the sticks on PS3 to anything else, you're going to have the perfect console in 5 months time, people like me will have to put up with near perfection. That's a first world problem I can live with.
P.S Wonder how Sony's innovation will compare to MS's? (The only positive things I have to say bout the XBone are about the controller, the feedback triggers sound awesome even if I'm struggling to think of ways they will be used).
I love pinball, but it's a damn shame Farsight own the rights to make the digital versions. They stretched themselves too thin, they are poor at fixing the many bugs their tables have, they keep hitting up kickstarter to get licences for tables when they surely must be making enough money by now to cover it. The PS3 version still has flipper lag (something Zen does not have). Lack of communication to fans...
I could go on, but they are probably the first game developers that have let me down so much I simply won't buy anything of theirs until they sort it out. Pumping out as many tables as you can without addressing some glaring issues with the past releases does not inspire faith in their commitment to their fans.
Kinda a crap feeling to know that my past dream of having real pinball tables to play digitally was so nearly real and let down by a dev that tries to do too much at once. I defended them much in the early days, assuming they'd address past issue. They are, but very slowly, slower than they are pumping out new tables to everything with a microchip on the planet.
Nah, this was a good move now and it will always be seen as a good move (bookmarking this now so in 8 years time I can be all 'see!!!!').
Thankfully we will probably now not see devs shoehorning camera options into games for the sake of it, or maybe even to try and avoid QA for Vita remote play. I'll get one at launch anyway, but I'm super glad it's optional.

Re: What Are the Main Differences Between Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS4 and PS3?
Looks fantastic at 1080P, so glad at least one of the next gen consoles is already outputting many games at that resolution.

@Dathon If I could merge the UI, mechanics and presentation of Zen with the real tables of TPA I'd be a happy man.

All looks like good fun, and all the better it's an optional extra and we are not having to invest in the camera before it's proven
