Control Resonant has sold one million copies since its release on 24th September, marking a sturdy start for the Remedy developed action game in a particularly busy schedule.

It took the Finnish firm’s previous title Alan Wake 2 about two months to reach the same milestone, although that game’s PC version was restricted to the Epic Games Store which may have impeded its sales somewhat.

We described the outing as “wildly inventive” in our review, awarding it an 8/10.

“Control Resonant is an impeccably confident and tantalising sequel that has all the hallmarks of a Remedy classic,” reviewer Aaron Bayne wrote.

“It’s endlessly stylish and playful; it looks gorgeous, especially on the PS5 Pro, and it manages to address many of the woes that I had with the original Control.”

Despite a heavy period of big game releases, it does feel like players are showing up.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve recently announced that it had also reached one million sales faster than any previous game in the franchise.

It’s great to see so many different games doing so well – both critically and commercially!
