Capcom has confirmed that Pragmata, having released only three days ago, has surpassed one million sales worldwide.
The official statement from the publisher announced the fresh PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC release managed to reach the milestone in just two days. It said the title's "highly innovative and original gameplay" has resulted in a "strong reception from players around the globe". With a Metacritic rating of 86 for the PS5 version, critics agree.
Capcom has called the sales milestone a "strong start" for Pragmata, and attributes some of its success to pre-release demos and the Nintendo Switch 2 version. It said: "As a result, these initiatives generated significant momentum, enabling Pragmata to achieve worldwide sales of over one million units in just two days despite being a completely new IP, marking a strong start for the title."
The development team within Capcom shared its thanks also, telling of its delight to reach so many players around the world. "Moving forward, we will continue making every effort to deliver the appeal of PRAGMATA to an even broader audience."
Pragmata released as a £49.99 / $59.99 title, a touch below the highest-priced PS5 software. It has been praised for its hacking mechanic and how it mixes with third-person shooting. The game is considered "refreshingly straightforward", as other big-budget efforts attempt to go bigger and bigger.
"Pragmata knows its strengths and leans into those hard, and the result is a cracking action game that just feels brilliant to play," we concluded in our Pragmata PS5 review, which ended with an 8/10 rating.
