I wanted to like Dispatch but it was above average at best. Hope they improve the writing a lot in S02. I was at the start of Act III for C33 months ago and I will probably finish at some point. Good game but didn't care nearly anything in the story, interesting.
LEGO Party! as best family game is a hard slap in the faces of Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.
I appreciate that E33 won the central categories, but not all possible ones. We see that the E33 euphoria is mostly over.
KCD2 won Narrative, rightly so. Still wondering how this BAFTA & TGA gave goty to GoW in 2018...when gamers worldwide have recently voted RDR2 the GOAT...Awards schemes totally lost it in 2018.
@TheArt I hear you. This isn’t a new problem; a janky, formulaic, by-the-numbers rpg completely broken on a technical level inexplicably beat out Dark Souls in 2011 for GotY. It can be incomprehensible when it happens, and it’ll doubtless happen again in the future.
Not bad results, but as much as I love Yotei, it winning best music is kinda crazy, that's probably the only thing I would give E33 flowers on but still very happy it got awards, and FINALLY KCD2 gets an award Jesus christ be praised
I loved Dispatch. Good to see it get some love!
Nice to see Ghost and Atomfall getting some recognition for a change.
Thank goodness KCD2 won something, for me the most incredible bit of game development last year despite the stiff competition from E33 et al.
Yōtei over E33 for music is WILD!
Good on both of these games though. I really enjoyed my time with Dispatch.
Good to see Ghost of Yotei win the award for Technical Achievement- thoroughly deserved.
Should have won GotY in my opinion too.
Undeserved, in my humble opinion.
@Yousef- Which one?
@Oram77 my apologies, I didn’t read the rest of the article.
Just dispatch & e33. The other games look fun.
Dispatch was the first game I played on my Steam Deck, such a great game. I will also get round to playing E33 at some point this year.
Yotei winning anything is wild. That was the most mediocre game of the big games that year across the board.
@RyPal you mispelled Dispatch
@Balaam_ 🤣🤣 You're also never getting over that one huh...honestly I couldn't get into Skyrim back in the day, it clicked a bit later but to be fair, at the time Dark Souls was a new formula people weren't familiar with, Sony execs didn't even believe in it. I'm glad Miyazaki is getting his flowers now anyway. On the other hand people knew Oblivion, so expanding on that and making Skyrim with all that freedom and content was a gamechanger. Years later, people still talk about Skyrim so that award has been justified i believe. Years later, RDR2 is still being talked about, GoW18 not so much.
@Balaam_ not forgetting your favourite game Clair Obscur won a lot here too. 😂😂
