Square Enix has just dropped a 16-minute gameplay video for Final Fantasy Resonance — the upcoming turn-based RPG that's been built on the bones of the old mobile title, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
But you're not getting a broader view of the overall adventure with this footage. Instead, it shows off a full, uncut boss battle with Shiva, as the party attempt to enlist her all-powerful services.
The fight lasts just over 11 minutes, spotlighting loads of different mechanics in the process.
Basically, your party members can equip the spirits of past Final Fantasy heroes, each of whom possess their own active abilities and passive perks. They level up much like the main characters themselves, leading to all kinds of opportunities for customisation.

It's a system with loads of potential. In this particular battle, we get to see what happens when Squall — of Final Fantasy 8 fame — is equipped. Later in the fight, he can be summoned to unleash a full-on super attack.
There's even a CGI scene that plays before the blow lands, which maybe looks a little out of place.
