SNK promised we’d learn more about Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ second season early this year, and here’s our first taste: Kenshiro of Fist of the North Star fame is seemingly joining the roster.
It’s an unexpected announcement, and while it’s technically not official just yet, we think the embedded teaser trailer makes pretty clear what the Japanese studio has in store.
We don’t actually see Kenshiro in the trailer, but we do get a glimpse of a familiar looking boot approaching Geese Tower. Later, as a couple of goons threaten two children, a hand appears triggering some electrical effects and familiar sounds.
We know that guest characters have been a pretty controversial feature for the latest Fatal Fury game – with Cristiano Ronaldo’s inclusion in particular attracting some fans’ ire – but we reckon Kenshiro would receive a warmer welcome to South Town.
He’ll likely be accompanied by Fatal Fury 2’s Wolfgang Krauser, as was teased at the tail end of last year, and several other SNK favourites in Season 2.
