Hollow Knight: Silksong was one of the biggest games of 2025, and dev Team Cherry has now announced the title has sold an outrageous seven million copies since launch.
But for those of you who’ve (somehow) already eked every single secret out of Hornet’s adventure, there’s lots to look forward to: a massive new expansion, named Sea of Sorrow, will greatly expand upon the core campaign in 2026.
Here’s what the studio had to say about the free DLC on its website:

“New areas, bosses, tools, and more! Hornet’s adventures continue in our nautically themed expansion, coming free for all players next year. We’ll keep further details a secret for now, but expect additional info shortly before Hollow Knight: Silksong - Sea of Sorrow releases.”
The Aussie outfit is also working on an update for the original Hollow Knight game which will be available on all platforms including PS4, adding a few additional unspecified features and fixing bugs.
For the millions of Hollow Knight fans among you, there’s lots to look forward to, then.
