If you're curious about Octopath Traveler 0 ahead of its PS5 and PS4 release on 4th December 2025, then Square Enix is giving you the chance to try the new JRPG today in a free demo.
Available today, the demo allows you to play the first three hours of the prequel entry, and then carry your progress over to the full game if you like what you see. You'll get to experience the prologue, some of the action that takes place after, turn-based battles, and a touch of the new town-building mechanic.

The game of the show for me, can't wait for this one!
Does this imply the existence of paid demos?
I played the demo for like 30-40 minutes and this is just me but the story feels...less interesting than Octopath 2.
I think i'm gonna skip this one.
