Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is a great revival of the classic SEGA series, and next year a DLC pack will bring fresh reasons to hop back in.
Announced back in August, the side-scrolling action game is set to receive the SEGA Villains Stage DLC, which will bring a trio of iconic bad guys to fight from across different SEGA franchises.
We already know about Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, and now, the publisher has announced the second villain that'll challenge Joe Musashi: Death Adder from Golden Axe.
Death Adder is a mainstay of the old school beat-'em-up series, a giant who wields the titular golden axe in his quest for power.
There's a third and final villain included in the DLC yet to be revealed; given that both baddies so far have their origins on the Mega Drive/Genesis, we're willing to bet it'll be another old school inclusion.
Golden Axe is one of several franchises SEGA has pledged to bring back; Shinobi: Art of Vengeance was the first of these to be released.

Got the feeling the last one will be Mr. X from SoR.
The final Villian should be Lan Di from Shenmue.
Okay Death Adder I get, but Eggman? What a one-sided showdown that'll be
Shinobi art of vengeance is a incredible game.that dlc look promising Word up son
Mr. X for another soon-to-be-rebooted series?
The only acceptable answer for the mystery third villain is Mortus from Comix Zone.
I think I will wait for a complete edition now then
@Mikeg1965 How dare you get my hopes up. You know how how gullible they are.
Surely the third and final villain has to be Mr X from the Streets of Rage franchise!
As I've seen two other's have said as well, previous to my thoughts.
Should it not be him then I can't deny that I will be disappointed 😒
I feel it ooks like a cool game, but I'm holding off on buying it right now due to Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft online games subscriptions, most expensive tiers and many other games in my backlog for my consoles.
In saying that, I bought Streets of Rage 4 and the survival dlc for every console and PC just excluding the mobile port and it quickly became one of my favourite games in the SOR series and from the little I've decided to watch and read upon Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, I can see how much love and dedication that the same team of people who worked on SOR 4 have put into this and how it will obviously follow in similar footsteps to the blueprint they used for SOR 4. 🤌🏻
I recently discovered there is a demo released for this so I'm going to try it at some point soon! 🤩
