Stellar Blade PS5, PC Fans Are Already Simping Over New Boss Character Scarlet

Looks like Raven has compeition now for best boss fight 👀Honestly can't wait to jump back into the game for a 4th play through!

I just... don't understand the appeal of this sort of cheap titillation in videogames. Was honestly one of the reasons I dropped this game at about 40% complete.

@MrPeanutbutterz The game is more than just a "gooner" game, Personally really liked the combat and exploration (gives me early 2000's vibes) the OST slaps, but hey if the game ain't to your liking I can respect that.

@Oram77 Oh it definitely is more than that. Honestly I bought it off the back of the demo and the satisfying parry mechanic (which I played off the back of over 100 hours of Sekiro, so that's saying something about the quality). And the soundtrack is my favourite of 2024 (along with Astro's).

I guess part of me had the thought of what if one of my non-gaming siblings/friends saw me playing this? Her little whimpers when doing things? The camera panning up when she's clikbing a ladder? If I'm sitting by myself and cringing at the game then it's time to move on.

That said, it is amusing to think that overt violence wouldn't have an eyelid batted at it, but an over-sexualised robot (chopping up other robots and monsters) would.

But other than that, and the super unrealistic clothing choices for high octane combat situations, the game itself is fantastic, great combat, good exploration, fantastic boss battles.

If you ignore the obvious points, concentrate on the cleavage of enemies in twain, Behave in a firm but(t) fair way with NPCs, and explore every crack, and crevice, you can on the map I'm sure you'd have a great time!

@MrPeanutbutterz It just pleases some people to play these over sexualised games. There are many females who happily geek out on this sort of stuff too.
I personally find it to be simple throwaway fun.

Bad enough I’m juggling between games( Fatal Fury, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, WWE 2K25, and Lunar Remasterd). Now I gotta jump back to Stellar Blade.

The most hilarious thing about these overtly sexualized anime style girl boss characters who kill entire armies while wearing heels and ridiculous outfits? The people who like them are almost certainly the same people writing 3,000 word dissertations on Reddit about how Abby could never eat enough protein to have muscles like that and therefore whole game is completely unrealistic and it kills their immersion.

@ChrisDeku To be fair, Stellar Blade isn't meant to be realistic. In fact it's meant to be overtly stylised and unreal. I have no issue with Cloud having perfectly styled hair at all times or him carrying a sword that's easily twice his bodyweight, but it'd be absolutely ridiculous if Joel had Cloud's hair and sword.

The same thing as why Capcom make Cammy jiggle cake, Chun Li jiggle thighs, Mai jiggle melons, Juri feets, and Ryu / Zangief jiggle muscles in SF 6. Capcom knew tons of people loves sexy characters and they will get brownie points from the fans if they do it.

I'm not overly concerned about the look of these characters, but the mutations, ugliness and size of the boss naytiba made them stand out for ME, ShiftUp did an astounding job with them, in both detail of aesthetic and interaction. I was hoping for more of the same... Hopefully in SB2!

We are humans too and we like beautiful people and fun video games. I really don't get this attitude of infantilization of almost half of the population. Only true misogynists hate beautiful women.

I mean, even within the game's fiction, EVE isn't actually a woman, but made to look like one for no apparent reason.
