One of the best things about Helldivers 2 is its shifting warfront across the shared online galaxy.
Developer Arrowhead has been able to constantly update the game with new missions, narrative beats, and features in this sort of "live" scenario, reacting to how players are doing and shifting the balance to keep things constantly engaging.
It's a really cool aspect of the game, and the latest addition is a dangerous new strain of Terminids.
As detailed on the PS Blog, these new bugs are venomous, and are burrowing beneath the surface, creating highly toxic new cave systems on various planets.
These Terminids move faster, but are more fragile than the regular species. The advice is to use powerful but less precise weaponry, such as shotguns, flamethrowers, and grenades to deal with them quickly.
If you let them attack you, you'll be poisoned. Light poison steadily chips away at your health, while heavy poison stacks over time.
Again, I think it's pretty cool how the game is able to change things up like this. I reckon it's a big reason why Helldivers 2 took off and continues to be popular.
Anyway, will you be blasting these new Terminids in Helldivers 2? Tell us in the comments section below.

Interestingly, I always found the stratagems to be the main thing I loved about Helldivers (both games), and sadly over time they seem to have been massively de-emphasized. Almost every active area now has modifiers that delay stratagem cooldowns and extend deployment time, and in those cave-based levels they're hard to use at all. I found that the less the game let me use them, the less I wanted to play. I'm glad so many people are still having a good time though.
Ah, new targets for my B/FLAM-80 Cremator 🔥🔥🔥
They need to add the chimera from resistance as an enemy faction.
