If, like this author, you’re already deep down the Honkai: Star Rail rabbit hole, with dozens of five-star characters and a wealth of valuable Relics sets to your name, you’ll probably be hoping for cross-save with the upcoming PS5 version. Well, buried in a press release about the game’s upcoming 1.30 update – which is due out on 30th August – developer HoYoverse has promised compatibility across all versions of the game. The blurb reads: “With cross-save and cross-play functions, players can enjoy their game progress across different platforms with more accessibility.”

While there’s still no date for the PlayStation release just yet, the aforementioned update is shaping up to be a monster. In addition to three new character banners, including the Super Seiyan version of Astral Express member Dan Heng, players can look forward to an entirely new area to explore and a fairly large expansion to the rougue-lite game mode, the Simulated Universe. You can check out the trailer for all the new content embedded above.

HoYoverse has also said that the game will feature heavily at Gamescom next week, with the PS5 version of the release being fully playable, live stage performances, and an appearance during Geoff Keighley’s curtain raising Opening Night Live keynote.
