Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will not have a physical collector’s edition for fans to buy when it releases on 11th June, but if you still want to pick up a boxed copy of the PlayStation 5 exclusive then worry not: you’ll be able to purchase all the Digital Deluxe extras from the release’s main menu screen.
These goodies, if you missed our post on the matter earlier, include five additional armour sets, a photo mode sticker pack, 20 Raritanium materials to upgrade your gear with, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack. We assume all of this will cost £9.99/$9.99.
Remember, if you pre-order any version of the game then you’ll get early access to the Carbonox Armour skins and Pixelizer firearm, which was outstanding fun in the PlayStation 4’s Ratchet & Clank game. Do you think you’ll be podding out extra for all of the abovementioned items?

I always approve of when Capcom games include this option, so I hope Sony incorporate it in all their future titles with deluxe editions.
I get the standard edition of games 99% of the time. I wonder what the purchase ratio is for games with multiple editions.
Part of it is me is proving a point that games should be complete when you buy them! Another part is because for the majority of games that come out, the DLC is mostly doodoo
update: Nice of them to offer this option though I guess.
Why wasn’t this available for Demons Souls or Sackboy!?! I never feel comfortable paying full price for a deluxe version but after spending dozens of hours in each of these games I’d be willing to splurge a bit more for those “extra” items, especially the Sackboy costumes!!!
I think I saw Carbonox armor in the PS2 rachet game.
@Kalvort but how do you know what a complete game is and what the developers added extra?
@Hopewell
If the content was ready on day one then it was obviously removed from the game and sold separately.
Rift Apart looks spectacular, but I'm one of many that still hasn't been able to get a PS5, so this one is going to have to wait probably some time for me.
While I'm no big fan of the £70 price point, in a way I'm glad that Rift Apart is full price cause we haven't gotten a proper full length Ratchet game since Crack in Time, and this price point suggests a return to that. I also noticed the preorder armour and weapon are early unlocks. Glad about that since I didn't get a PS4 until a few months after the movie game came out, meaning I missed out on an entire weapon permanently.
Sweet, I will happily pay an extra ~$10 to upgrade my physical Standard copy to Deluxe Edition.
Not paying full price this. Too expensive for me
For pointless stuff like this I don’t care, but the practice of releasing only the base game physically, then making people buy all additional content digitally, is very annoying and, in my opinion, just a way to make the purchase of physical discs less convenient overall as well as making them less valuable.
For example, I waited a long time for the ultimate, complete edition of Spider-Man last gen, but the game of the year addition arrived with no DLC included on disc. As such, I just ended up buying a second hand copy years after release then traded it back when finished. I never did play the DLC.
Do there is no special edition with steelbook? I want that
If you're already spending £70 that stuff should be free.
@KippDynamite
But if you actually look at what is extra content the only thing that falls into that category is the 5 armour sets. Everything else is just extra.
And the 5 armour sets aren't detailed so maybe they haven't even made them yet and are still coming up with ideas to this day. So they could very well be extra.
Miles morales did this where you could pay an extra £10/$10 for the ultimate edition that added spider man remastered
This doesn't give me a good feeling for this game. I never buy dlc. I may have to wait for a $9.99 discount and not buy the up-sale digital dlc. No matter how much I love Ratchet and Clank. This would have been the first game I would be willing to pay $69.99 for.
Good because I wanted the physical version but I was weighing the digital deluxe version for the content. I’m glad it’s the same price.
For PS5 I’m buying single player games physically and multiplayer games digitally.
I like these options. Final Fantasy 7 Remake did this and I jumped on that. Lets you get the game cheap on sale, then splurge 20 bucks on the extra junk. It lets you save a lot of money buying the game used, but the devs still see some cash too.
Standard edition including the preorder bonus is £54.37 base.com atm. I saved the equivalent of 20 pounds including shipping to Sweden, so even after buying the deluxe material on PS Store at release I’ll have saved £10... Win!
EDIT: Might be that I’ll get taxed for it here in Sweden instead due to brexit, that’s why it’s so cheap maybe?
Anyone else who’s ordered overseas?
