RAGE 2 will attempt to keep you engaged with both free content updates and paid DLC, confirms Tim Willets, studio director of id Software. Speaking to VG247, Willets lets slip: "We’ll have some post-launch updates that will add experiences so you keep playing... We’ll have some free content and we’ll have some paid content."
As you probably already know, RAGE 2 won't have any kind of co-op or multiplayer, but Willets is confident that the sandbox shooter will keep players entertained: "We can have enough dynamic systems and deliver enough content and focus on the best things about the game. You can do anything, you just can’t do everything. So we focused on what works best for us." That'll mostly be blowing stuff up with mad weapons, then.
Willets also says that sharp players may notice interesting looking locations that you won't be able to explore in the base game. "You’ll be like ‘I bet there’s going to be post launch content there…’", he teases.

Sounds like a similar strategy to AC Odyssey’s post-launch free/paid dlc. Not bothered about lack of co-op or multiplayer as I rarely play online. Looking forward to this one.
Kay, so I'll get the eventual complete edition and won't have to think about this one for at least a year now. Considerate of you, id!
