Sly Cooper TV Series

Sly Cooper’s long-awaited animated series will start in October 2019, with a whopping 52 episodes commissioned. Each instalment will be 11 minutes in length, with the ‘toon targeting both boys and girls aged between 6-years-old and 10-years-old. Of course, that means that the real audience will be long-time fans in their late 20s like ourselves.

Here’s the synopsis, as posted on PGS Entertainment: “Sly Cooper follows the adventures of an irresistibly charismatic raccoon, a modern-day Robin Hood, who restores justice to his city one theft at a time. Mixing humour, action, and a remarkable cast of characters, Sly Cooper promises to be an unforgettable series.”

Sony was originally planning a Ratchet & Clank-style movie for this franchise, but we reckon an animated series makes more sense. It will still use CGI, which is a bit of shame because we reckon an old-school 2D cartoon would look great, but we’re eager to see what creator Technicolor delivers; for our money, Sly has always secretly been PlayStation’s best platforming mascot.

And of course the really exciting thing is that this could lead to another game. Previous entry Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time ended on a cliffhanger and was brilliant fun, so we’d be down for a PlayStation 4 instalment. Are you looking forward to the animated series?
