As has been rumoured for a while, there’s a new Sonic Racing game in development. Speculation suggests that Sumo Digital – the developer of the excellent Sonic & Racing All-Stars Transformed – is at the helm, although this is unlikely to lean on the SEGA nostalgia that previous instalments did. A new trailer shows off a bunch of cars, before displaying an emblem with an ‘R’ in the style of Saturn title, Sonic R.
There’s really not a whole lot else to go on at the moment, other than the fact that this is apparently something new and not a sequel or follow-up to any previous titles. We assume more will be revealed at E3 2018.

Yes! Transformed is a brilliant game! Sump rarely poor a foot wrong. Looking forward to seeing more.

Everybody’s super sonic racing...
Still haven't tried the other Sonic racers. Are they good? I'm not counting Drift or R (I've played those- Drift is bleh, and R is a guilty pleasure. That soundtrack I legitimately enjoy though).

The R looks like it's at the start of the word Racing, to me and the logo above it looks like the classic Sonic the Hedgehog one so my guess is that it's simply called Sonic the Hedgehog Racing.
I'm down for this. Kart racers can be great and if done right I think this could be really huge. Both PS4 and Xbox One (and Switch aside from Mario Kart 8) are really lacking a big fun kart racer and with the number of consoles out there, if this is a) good and b) marketed enough loads will buy it. It's about time.

Hey, I still play Sonic R on the Gamecube once in a while, so I wouldn't complain, but I wouldn't mind another game like the All-Star Racing games.
The only problem for this is that outside of the character's established on the Megadrive they're all terrible. Still I really enjoyed Sonic R back on the Saturn and played that game to death, so fingers crossed for a bit of on foot racing action to go with the Karts
