There’s a Tomb Raider movie launching in March 2018, and the marketing machine just went into overdrive. Ahead of a trailer set to debut tomorrow, Warner Bros has released the first poster showing Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. If we’re being really critical, we don’t like her pose here – it just looks weird. Fortunately, promo shots in the past have looked a lot more appealing – and the logo’s pretty cool, isn’t it?
If the poster’s not doing anything for you, then there’s a teaser for the new trailer above. We wonder if this will end up being any good? Vikander is a good actress, but we worry about the script.

Remember Rambo 4? Everyone thought it would suck, but he punches a guys head off. It was great.
This looks like that, but with a female lead. If she punches someone's head off I feel it's fair to start whispering "oscar" here.....

This is a way better representation of Lara, especially in keeping with the reboots. Looks sweet!

Way better actress for modern Lara, who is less of a sex symbol and more of an action hero.
I'm never hopeful when it games to movies based on video games. If it does actually turn out well, I'll go see it. But I'm not counting on it.
Too early to form a real opinion either way, the full trailer better not be vertical too. It's pretty amusing to see the general audience who've only ever seen the two movies react to this though.

Old Lara was probably more of an action hero than modern Lara to be honest.
She has the body of the new lara not the face lets hope she acts good.
Personally I can't see this doing well at the box office whether it turns out to be good or not.I'm still quite looking forward to it myself though
That trailer better be way better b/c the teaser looks like an ad for "Lost" or nay other bad tv show.
Hopefully they know this and it's all a ploy, start off w/ a bad small teaser then unleash a full blown widescreen film that doesn't look like it was filmed on an iPhone like one of those "fan" trailers on Youtube.
And Angelina Joile is old news, a bygone generation of film-goers - theaters only make these movies for 15-25 year olds - so everybody has to look like this the past 10 years (and a month).
I think she's even wearing the same clothes.

I think Vikander is smoking-hot, & a great actress.. however I cant picture her as Lara Croft. It just dont sit right with me for some reason.
I'll wait on reviews, I think we all know from experience, the odds of a film tie in being great are not high.

@get2sammyb I think Angelina Jolie is better fitting playing the role of Laura Croft because Angelina was a straight up ANGEL sent down from the heavens. But I will still see this movie cuz it's tomb raider
I'm hoping the movie does good.
The success or failure of this film is 100% down to script and scenario. Alicia Vikander is a wonderful and talented actress, so I am confident she will do a great job. Its just everything else that concerns me. Oh and seconded that the pose in the poster looks a little odd

For real reasons, though, Angelina looked just like LARA, acted like her and in real life they were almost identical. They were both goddesses, smart, adventurous and helped a lot of people all over the world and did stuff for a good cause. Not saying the new Lara isn't and doesn't help people but I feel like the new Lara doesn't look like her at all... still looks like a good movie and definitely gonna see it!!!

I thought this was one of those fake fan teaser trailers when I watched it on YouTube. Looked terrible. Will give the full trailer a look when it drops.

This poster is such a bad 'shop job... her neck is so unnatural. There are some hilarious tweets flying around making fun of this awful poster. Scares me when crap like this gets approved by people in charge as it doesn't leave a lot of faith the movie will be any good. Though I sure hope it's good! Love Vikander.
