There's never a good week to take a break in this industry, but Señor Ramsey informs me that the past seven days have been the pits on Planet PlayStation. Fortunately, he was able to plug the gaps with an ample supply of Destiny: The Taken King info and lots of reviews. Here's your regularly scheduled recap of everything that you need to know.
Reviews
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - 9/10
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a hallmark of excellence in tackling open world gameplay, with its creative approach being reflected organically through your own actions. The amount of detailed, quality content on offer is immense, and the title boasts such a diverse selection of gear and utilities that it rarely, if ever, becomes repetitive to play. Managing and supporting your forces is both addictive and compelling, though indulging in the game's online features may lead to some frustratingly unfortunate technical issues. In terms of its story, the fifth instalment in the series may leave some fans wanting more, but overall, the release proves to be a fitting, brutally brilliant finale to Hideo Kojima's beloved saga.
Mad Max - 6/10
Like the titular hero's travels across the wasteland, Mad Max has a fair amount of tedium, punctuated by bouts of exciting action. Having a huge amount of side content is never a bad thing, but the moment that you're required to dive deeper than you'd like is when it becomes a bit of a turn off. As you wander the desert on the lookout for pieces of scrap, your enjoyment will feel like it's on a downward trajectory the longer that you play. As a result, you'll try to spend as much time as you can racing across its beautifully realised wasteland, while avoiding anything that pulls you from behind the wheel.

Guide: Metal Gear Solid V Buddies and How to Get the Best Out of Them
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain features very fun and flexible mission design. From fully customisable loadouts to the fact that you can tackle almost any operation exactly as you see fit, you're always given countless options when it comes to fulfilling your objectives. One of the game's most interesting additions to the franchise, however, is its buddy system.
Poll: Which Destiny Ghost Voice Is the Best?
Any fan of Destiny will know that the game's most recent 2.0 update replaced the original voice of your robotic companion - your Ghost - with an all-new actor. Previously, it was Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage who provided your Ghost with its monotone commentary, but now, video game voice actor Nolan North has been drafted to lend his voice to the role instead.

Destiny: The Taken King Trophies Are Live on PS4
Destiny's gigantic 2.0 update launches tomorrow, the 8th September, in preparation for the title's upcoming expansion, The Taken King, which releases on the 15th September. As such, it's no surprise that the add-on's Trophy set has appeared on the PlayStation Network.
Yep, PS4 Exclusive The Last Guardian Is Going to Be at TGS 2015
Many couldn't believe their eyes when Sony opened its E3 2015 press conference with a brand new look at The Last Guardian, and to be honest, it still feels a bit weird to be writing about the game as if it's, you know, an actual real thing. After years and years of uncertainty and clearly troubled development, The Last Guardian is slated for a 2016 release, and you're going to get your next look at it during this month's Tokyo Game Show.
Hardware Rivals Brings a Hell of a Lot of Firepower Exclusively to PS4
Anyone remember Hardware: Online Arena on the PlayStation 2? As its name suggests, the title was one of the few last-last-gen games to boast online play - and it's getting a sequel of sorts on PlayStation 4.
Expect a Big Persona 5 Blowout at TGS
It comes as no surprise whatsoever to learn that Persona 5 is going to have a big presence at this year's Tokyo Game Show, but we're rather excited in any case. The highly anticipated Japanese role-playing game is supposed to be releasing this year in both Japan and North America, but honestly, we're still incredibly sceptical - especially of the latter.
Here's Your First Look at The Witcher 3's October Expansion
We hope that you're prepared to jump back into the hunt, because the first trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's first expansion, Hearts of Stone, is ready and waiting. Needless to say, it's only a teaser, so don't expect to see too much.

Wow, Destiny: The Taken King's Japanese TV Ad Is Better Than Ours
Japan's had a long history of crazy video game marketing, and as such, it's always interesting to see how the latest blockbusters are being advertised in the East. Now, Destiny actually sold reasonably well when it first launched in the Land of the Rising Sun, so it's no surprise that its upcoming expansion, The Taken King, has received a rather good television advert.
