Anyone remember Hardware: Online Arena on the PlayStation 2? As its name suggests, the title was one of the few last-last-gen games to boast online play - and it's getting a sequel of sorts on PlayStation 4.
A newly formed internal development team over at Sony is working on the new project, entitled Hardware: Rivals, and it promises bombastic vehicular combat. There's no release date just yet, but the studio says it'll have more information to share in the near future, along with a beta.
In the meantime, take a look at the PS4 exclusive's trailer and let us know if you're ready to turn your friends into scrap metal in the comments section below.

So the rumors were true? Instant buy for me!
Ohhh. I like it!
It was one of the first games I got when I applied as a PS2 online beta tester, Hardware, SOCOM and the first Monster Hunter.
I didn't like it.
I always thought of Hardware as a poor man's Twisted Metal, especially with also having Twisted Metal Black: Online to play as well at the time. Still, it was a freebie in Europe when you sent off for a network access disk. Considering vehicle combat seems to be dead these days, I'm sorta looking forward to this
I bet this'll be a PS+ game on release, calling it
@Anchorsam_9 Sony don't tend to put there exclusives on Plus day one, they need to make money back on their investment after all.
Looks like absolute garbage
@DominicanGlory Nothing like judging a game based on ONE short trailer eh?
@adf86 excuse me for calling a spade a spade and not licking up every drop of software Sony pumps out.
@DominicanGlory Oh dear, someone is a bit moody today.
