Hogwarts Legacy: The Path to Hogwarts Walkthrough

After creating your witch or wizard and watching the opening cutscene, you'll gain control of your character after drinking a Wiggenweld Potion given to you by Professor Fig. Exit the cave and take in your surroundings; the Portkey has transported you to somewhere in Scotland. Professor Fig wants to investigate the ruins, so follow him along the path near the cliff edge to your right. Eventually, in a large open cave, you'll come across an enchantment that must be broken. You'll learn how to do a Basic Cast here with the R2 button, and after hitting the enchantment enough times, you're allowed to press on.

Continue to follow Professor Fig until you climb up to a bridge leading further into the ruins. The main objective will take you to the right, but if you first go left, there's a Chest to search. Return to Professor Fig and he'll guide you to the main structure in the ruins, repairing the bridge along the way.

On the other side, you'll be told to explore the ruins. There's a bit of dialogue attached to the mural carved into the back wall Professor Fig is investigating, and you can also take a look at the statue to your left. Just to the right of it is a path that leads forward along the cliffs. At the end of this path will be something to interact with, and doing so will transport you to the room you saw on the other side.

You're told to wake the goblin, so approach them carefully. It turns out you're now in Gringotts, so ride the mine cart to vault number 12. Before you enter, there's a Chest to search on your right. You'll be locked inside when you take a step in, so there must be more to the vault than meets the eye. You'll be given a tutorial for the Revelio spell here, which will then be mapped to left on the D-Pad. Cast Revelio again and a door will appear on the back wall, which you must enter by interacting with the symbol at the centre. Since it's so dark on the other side, stick close to Professor Fig as you move through the vault.

Eventually, a light will appear up ahead and you'll need to head on over and interact with it. You now need to work out how to progress. Cast Revelio to make the statue appear, and then follow the tutorial to learn Lumos. With the latter spell cast, walk around to the front of the statue and wait there while it stands up. Doing so spawns more statues, which you'll need to fight. This encounter acts as a tutorial for the Protego spell, which blocks enemy attacks. Once you've used it three times, defeat all the statues using Basic Cast.

After the fight, you'll be split from Professor Fig and have to find him again. Cast Lumos so you can see, then follow the magic wisps around you to another piece of magic you can interact with. You'll now need to position another three statues correctly by having them appear using Revelio and then casting Lumos to move them so they face the same direction as their reflection. The twist this time, though, is all three statues will be following you at the same time. Therefore, position yourself so they all line up correctly.

Doing this successfully activates the three statues, so destroy them all with Basic Cast. The next encounter will teach you how to perform a Stupefy counterattack by holding Protego during combat. This allows you deal extra damage. Once the fight is over, follow the magic wisps around you again to find Professor Fig. Eventually, you'll find another piece of magic to interact with which opens up a new doorway. On the other side, approach the basin and interact with the mysterious object. In the next cutscene, you'll meet Ranrok for the first time and escape via another doorway, leading you to Hogwarts and completing the first Main Quest.
