It uses up a fair chunk of your FP bar, though, so make sure you have some Flasks on hand to refill it. Since the Ashes of War is acquired in the Liurnia of the Lakes, you'll have to progress a bit before having the chance to pick it up.

This Ashes of War launches spirals of wind in front of you after a quick charge up time. Due to its range, it is particularly useful for chipping away at an enemy's health at a distance — particularly during boss fights. As an early game pickup, you can't do much better than Storm Blade.
