DOOM: The Dark Ages: City of Ry'uul Walkthrough 1

There are 7 Collectibles to find in City of Ry'uul. There are 2 Rubies, 1 Wraithstone, 2 Demonic Essence, 1 Codex Entry, and 1 Toy. Below you will find all collectibles locations in City of Ry'uul in the order you should encounter them.

Codex Entry #1: City of Ry'uul

  • When you find the first boost pad in the Chapter, use it and go to the left behind you on the level above
  • By the broken pillar, you can drop off the ledge to a secret level below
  • At the end of the hall is the Codex Entry

Ruby #1

  • In the corridor after picking up the Dreadmace, you'll need to open the gate ahead by destroying the Cosmic Eye
  • Above the gate blocking access to the Ruby, throw your shield at the blue gears
  • This raises the elevator in the area, but also reveals a tunnel below it
  • Follow the tunnel through to the other side to resurface at the Ruby

Demonic Essence #1: Health

  • In the combat encounter after picking up Ruby #1, defeat the Leader to earn its Demonic Essence

Demonic Essence #2: Armor

  • When you're back out in the open area of this Chapter, you'll land on a platform that's marked as a combat encounter, but nothing happens when you first get there
  • Use the shield launcher to cross the gap, then climb up the wall to the right
  • Instead of going through the door to the left, go straight ahead and look over the edge to spot some Gold below
  • Follow the Gold through another shield launcher to reach a platform that triggers the combat encounter
  • Defeat the Leader that spawns to get the Demonic Essence

Toy #1: Agaddon Hunter

  • Return to the main path you deviated off of to activate Demonic Essence #2, and once you pass through the next corridor, look to your immediate right to spot some tree branches you can shield smash through
  • You'll land on top of the Toy

Wraithstone #1

  • Opposite the ledge you drop down to get Toy #1 is the Wraithstone statue
  • This one is practically unmissable

Ruby #2

  • After the final combat encounter of the Chapter, before entering the portal, look over the edge of the platform you're on to the right, as you're facing the portal
  • It's through an archway
  • There's a ledge you can drop down to that'll lead you to some Gold and a purple totem that activates a boost pad on the opposite side of the arena
  • Use the boost pad to reach the Ruby
