If you paid full-price for DOOM: The Dark Ages’ first major expansion Revelations when it released on 7th July, I think you have a right to feel a little irked today.

As part of Sony’s expanded PS Store summer sale, Bethesda has slashed the price of the DLC by 50%, making it just $9.99/£8.99 through 13th August.

This appears to be in line with price reductions on the FPS overall.

For example, the core game is down 67% to $23.09/£23.09, but its Premium Edition – which includes Revelations – is also reduced to $32.99/£32.99.

Therefore, you’ll save a few pennies by going for the Premium Edition, and get a digital art book and a bonus skin pack for your troubles.

Still, there is some suggestion that DOOM: The Dark Ages has underperformed overall, which would perhaps justify this heavy discounting.

Legendary dev id Software lost over 100 staff as part of Xbox’s layoffs earlier this month, although there’s still some debate over how functional the studio remains moving forward. Ex-employees say it’s been reduced to “support studio” status, while leadership denies those accusations.

Either way, if you’ve been on the fence with DOOM: The Dark Ages and/or its DLC, now’s the time to grab it from the PS Store.
