@KratosMD I still have to play it more too. I agree with you that it is fresh and I admire they're exploring the notion of what Zelda is, rather than trying to imitate Ocarina of Time. I just can't find the motivation to really play it...

Nintendo have had some classic games which is why I've kept an N64 and gamecube .. my favs would be Zelda windwaker gc .. star fox n64 .. super MARIO world snes ... but after gamecube .. Sony PlayStation all the way ... final fantasy 7 .. metal gear solid 1 and 2 .. gran turismo series .. resident evil 2 .. uncharted 2 .. the last of us .. drive club... little big planet 1 and 2 .. horizon zero dawn

No Xbox games would make my all time list .. not being biased but none really captivate me

Games will face off against each other and you pick your favourite. After 48 hours the votes are tallied and the winners go through to Round 2. The loser goes out. In the event of a draw the last cast vote is rolled back so there can be no loser. Unlike previous editions when these games are out - they stay out so make sure to check back every couple of days!

DKC is an absolute gem! Pikmin is a great franchise, but I think Pikmin 2 is the weakest entry. I'm not a fan of the dungeons. Pikmin games should be about managing your squad and completing as much tasks as possible within an in-game day. That's where the game shines. The lack of time limitations in the dungeons hurt those sections and they became laid-back generic ''adventure game'' sequences. And you spent more time in dungeons than in the actual levels...

Overwatch is alright. I don't care about either Rachet & Clank or Crash, but I've played Crash, so I'll pick that one.

Pokemon Red/Blue for sure. One of my favourite (J)RPGs of all time. No unnecessary story or talking. But a pure turn-based strategy game. The franchise gets better in generation 3 and 4 when abilities are introduced and when special and physical moves are split, but it also gets worse because the developers feel a need to shoehorn a boring story and unnecessary tutorials and talking into each new entry. I like the simplicity of the originals.

And Megaman II I guess, I had to google what Infinity Blade was!

@octane Ive used this thread as a recommended games list previously. Infinty blade may well be one for 2018!

@Octane I have great memories of the first Pikmin, 2 and 3 both failed to recreate or enhance the experience. I did love a lot of parts about 2 (new Pikmin, no day limit), but other parts really dragged it down.

And Donkey Kong Country... I've been replaying it on the SNES Mini and it still managed to amaze me. Yes, the game is difficult, but beating a level is so satisfying. And it still looks stunning to this day.

Easy choices for me....

DKC was a fantastic Platformer and developed by Rare. I could wax lyrical about how ground breaking it was for the time - the quality of the sprites etc but the game-play still holds up today.
Forza Horizon 3 is one of the most beautiful games in recent years and the Australian setting is a wonderful playground for the open world Arcade racer. It blends the 'Track' racing of Motorsport with the arcade style - Where else can you race trains, boats etc, take Super and Hypercars off road and see how far you can jump etc its the best 'racing' game available.
Crash Bandicoot was the only difficult choice as R&C was a great game but I think Crash takes it because of what it did for PS and R&C3, whilst superior, came at a time when I had outgrown 3D kiddy platformers - I was into my 30's after all.
Dragon Age Origins is an easy win. I can't stand Pokemon but even still, few games would beat it in a shoot out. DAO had a great story, great characters, great setting, great music and great voice acting too - i rightfully won Game of the Year and Best RPG...
Megaman 2 is a classic - enough said. I don't like fighting games but it did look stunning for a mobile game but it that wasn't enough to interest me.

@Kidfried I really liked 3. It's more of the first one, but bigger and better. Though it's a lot more linear in places.

The day limit has never been an issue for me. It's there to remind you not to slack off. It also prevents you from wasting days and building an army of pikmin. But even if you take your time, it shouldn't be an issue.

I only picked Overwatch and Mega Man from coin toss. I haven't played either.

I haven't played Pikmin at all, but DKC is one of my favorite platformers. I also listed it, so yeah.

Crash 2 is my personal favorite game ever, so I'm putting it over even though I love Ratchet and Clank 3.

Dragon Age was one of my favorite PS3 games, and difficulty aside, is one of favorite RPGs of all time. A great cast, combat system, and world with lore that sucked me in. I have some good memories with Pokemon, but if it's a battle between RPGs, it doesn't hold a candle. I'd also put Gens 2 and 3 over 1, personally.

Not terribly attached to any of these but Infinity Blade is good for a mobile phone game, beautiful graphics, and it spurred on a Brandon Sanderson novel, so that is pretty awesome.

The first 2 and Pokemon I don't have much of an opinion on but it was hard choosing out of Crash 2 or Ratchet 3 but I ultimately went with Ratchet due to the fun times in multiplayer I've had and as for the last I loved Infinity Blade when it came out and havent played any mega man games
