Topic: Super Mario Odyssey -OT-

I know it's not a PS game but alot of us will be playing this game here in a few hours. This thread is to discuss the game and that way it will be a lot harder to avoid spoilers then say if we are discussing the game in the Switch thread.

That said please be courteous to others and use spoiler tags if your want to mention parts that could be spoilers.

So who is looking forward to this game?

I'm...sort of looking forward to it? Ive never fully enjoyed the sandbox Mario games. I don't enjoy 64 at all, and Sunshine is an okay time.

So I am approaching this game with trepidation. I expect I will be viewed as wrong on this as well.

@BLP_Software Didn't you do like a massive YouTube series where you got all 120 stars in Super Mario 64? Yet you don't enjoy it?

@get2sammyb I enjoyed the start of it. Like the first couple of worlds, good stuff. It goes downhill so f***** fast with inconsistent design and bullcrap. Again, good for its time but god damn

And yes I did. I have OCD so I feel the urge to do the games in order. Once 64 is out of the way I can do Sunshine, which I like 50% of instead of 30%, and then on to Galaxy, which I do enjoy almost all of.

That and come on, if I didn't do 64 I'd be moaned at And on YouTube negativity sells, it helps balance the positivity I have in a lot of games I record.

I also recorded 64 in one sitting. So my past midnight delirium at the end of it in Rainbow Ride is very real as I snap.

@Tasuki Bleh, I won't be getting this until tomorrow. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of the people who got it early. -_-

Playing it right now! Controls feel good so far. I've managed to avoid everything since the E3 trailer, feels good to go in a game knowing a little as possible.

@BLP_Software As someone who generally doesn't like 3D Mario games, I really enjoyed what I played of Odyssey at Best Buy enough that I preordered it.

@Ralizah I will be getting it tonight but won't be playing it probably till this weekend when I am off of work.

Just googled this. Didn't know the British had a different word for Christmas. Although, honestly, Xmas is just as weird.

I'm definitely interested in it, but not only do I not have a Switch, I don't have the money to spare for a full priced title.

I've always been late to the Mario wagon despite being a big fan of the series. Galaxy was the only title I got close to release. I can wait, but it'll suck.

Most Mario games deserve the praise they get. Games like Sunshine, 3D World, Galaxy (2) are really masterclasses in level design. They're technically close to perfect and all of these games feel so fresh and unique.

But really, name one recent 3d platformer, that is as good as Mario 3D World if not better and didn't receive just as much praise.

Midnight cannot come soon enough. Been waiting for this game forever, and it's the reason I bought the Switch. Got my pre-order ready for Best Buy and going to snatch the 3 pack of amiibo as well. Just a few more hours...

Looks like my last post was deleted because it contained more content than the words "Mario Odyssey" so I guess I'll just say "not getting MARIO ODYSSEY at the moment". A bit harsh on the moderation IMO. I see a couple of comments above me that don't have anything to do with the game, either.

I will receive my game just on Monday, sigh...
