EGX really showcased the switch well. I think its fair to say ARMS was a highlight of the show, it reminds me of an old tank arcade game by sega which I really liked (cant remember the name). So I will be getting that for xmas for my son.

@Octane You think? Were you drinking when ordering Just kidding ,what game are you thinking of getting? I really want a Pro controller but just can't reconcile myself to the price. I think I might rather have a second dock.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@Rudy_Manchego Yeah I do, I saw a big number disappear from my bank account, so I hope it arrives.
The Joy-Con are too small, so I had to get a Pro Controller. Got a copy of Splatoon 2 as well, better make use of the online now that it's still free. But I mainly got it for Mario Odyssey, I just didn't want to wait too long in case they were all out of stock again when Odyssey comes out.
@Octane Ah right. The same has happened with my Snes Mini. Just waiting for it to arrive!
I've coped with the Joycons but I don't like them in their cradle for long term play. I probably should get the Pro controller. I think Mario Odyssey is going to be pretty huge so I thin you are doing the right thing in getting it early. Enjoy!

@Rudy_Manchego Yep, I've been waiting for them to return to the 64/Sunshine format with Mario, and with them officially calling it a sequel in the vein of those two games, I hope it's going to be good! And yes, as their big holiday title, I think it's going to be difficult finding a Switch around the Mario Odyssey launch.
@Octane I know - to be honest, even though I owned a Wii, I never really used it that much and missed out on some really good games. I never owned a Wii U so the Switch has really rekindled my love of Nintendo.

@Kidfried Yeah, it is one of the reasons I want to get Odyssey, to see if I still like them. I would love some Switch remasters, especially of Wii U era games because I don't have that console.

@belmont Any exclusives? Mario Odyssey of course when it comes out in about three weeks. Maybe you'll enjoy Zelda. I think it was alright, but many seem to love it. I got myself a copy of Splatoon 2 today, because the first game was an absolute blast and the online is still free.
My Switch came in today as well, but retailer messed up and send me one with a UK adapter and a cheap converter, like a DIY project...
In any case, ignoring the obligatory "How dare you betray us comments", Mario + Rabbids is genuinely fun and shockingly long. Zelda if you don't have it on Wii U. Splatoon 2 and ARMS if those are your jam. Golf Story, Cave Story, Stardew Valley, lots of great indie titles, there was a download update I think last week that was 20 or so games?
A lot of retail stuff youll already own on PS4 though.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@KratosMD@BLP_Software Already got a vita, play it occasionally but usually it just gathers dust. Sounds like Zelda and Mario + Rabbids are the way to go. Thanks for the advice.
Mario + Rabbids is, surprisingly, the best exclusive on the NS right now. It's a challenging, fun, meaty experience. Aside from a few bugs (this IS Ubisoft we're talking about), it was a wonderful experience. A lot like XCOM, except much more of a focus is placed on being able to quickly dart around the map (between warp tubes, normal movement, team jumps, and Mario's jump attack, you can wind up on the other side of a sizable map with ease).
I fully expect Mario Odyssey to become the system's go-to exclusive when it launches later this month, but for a game so many of us thought would suck, M + R is a wonderful surprise.
BotW is also a necessity for anyone who hasn't played it on Wii U. Probably my favorite open-world game ever, and among my favorite Zeldas. Absolutely gorgeous and addictive game all-around.
ARMS, Splatoon 2, and MK8D are all great multiplayer experiences.
Puyo Puyo Tetris is also available on PS4, but it's a great game to play on the tablet.
There are a number of good indie games on the eshop as well. Some, like Fast RMX and Blaster Master Zero, are exclusive to Nintendo platforms.
