@themcnoisy Rallies went on forever if you had two players of even skill, it was great.
I think it was because we had fewer games to play back then, but me and my mate seemed to get a lot more mileage out of them. Also on PS1, Unholy War and Worms saw similar epic battles. We had the original Soul Calibur on Dreamcast as well. We used to have 100-round matches on there
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@Gremio108 likewise. If you like old skool Soul Calibur then Soul Calibur 6 will be right up your street. It's arguably as good, the only negative is any new character since SC3 onwards has been imo a crap design and feels out of place in the roster bar arguably Tira. Luckily there's only a few like Groh and Azwel but all in all its a big recommended from me.
As for getting mileage out of older games, we didn't have psplus and free games coming from everywhere also if your anything like me, probably only get an hour or two a night these days so can't become as competent.
PS3 Megathread 2019: The Last of Us
Multiplat 2018: Horizon Zero Dawn
Nintendo 2017: Super Mario Bros 3
Playstation 2016: Uncharted 2
Multiplat 2015: Final Fantasy 7
@themcnoisy Yeah, I must admit, I keep getting tempted into playing PS Plus games when I'm trying to get the old backlog down. I suppose if I'm enjoying it, then it's all good, but yeah it does take time away from the games I've paid money for.
I'm hoping SC6 will drop in price towards the summer, because I was thinking about picking it up, for nostalgia's sake
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@kyleforrester87 When me and my mate first started the original Suikoden, we didn't have a memory card at all. So every time I went round we would just play the first couple of hours of the game. Absolute madness. It was a great day when we finally got one
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@Gremio108 That's what it was like back in the day though, you'd never clear Sonic as you'd always get called down to dinner and would have to turn everything off and restart it again afterwards lol.
@themcnoisy we didn't those cases in the UK, we got purpose made cases and they were pretty good

@kyleforrester87 i remember the first time i played FFVII, i got it with my PS1 and didn't realise i needed a memory card so i didn't have one and once i found out i needed one i was unsure what to do, i had to leave my PS1 on for about a week none stop until i got one

@kyleforrester87 Whoah, you mean you never experienced Sonic 3 and Knuckles? You only had half the game! I had to regularly borrow Sonic 3 off my cousin because it was the only one I didn't have
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
Edit: oh you said you did look in the book just not the back, fair enough I believe you're legit!!
@Gremio108 haha yeah. I watched a 30 minute YouTube documentary about Sonic 3 and S&K the other week. In a nutshell they were meant to be the same game but due to time constraints they get chopped into 2 games and sold separately. The fans loved it. These days there would be uproar 😂
@kyleforrester87 i have both the Black Bar release and the Platinum release of FFVII on PS1 (same with FFVIII actually)
(old picture)
although i did actually do a no save run of FFVII once, i got to the northern cave where i was KO's in a boss fight

I too have 2 FF7s, only one FF8 mind you (platinum version).
Honestly I did get a pirated NTSC version of 8 initially as I was so excited to get hold of it. That's why my version is Platinum, I picked it up to fill the gap later down the line.
Speaking of FF and remembering, I remember when you could buy a FF game knowing you were getting a A+++ experience, and the franchise wasn't bogged down with weird sub-games and films 😂
@kyleforrester87 so did a mate of mine although it somehow broke his PS1 eventually i don't know how though
in fact he had loads of pirated games on his PS1, i don't think he owned more that 5 real PS1 games

@JohnnyShoulder I assume you were talking about Sonic and Knuckles.
Adding Sonic 3 opened up almost a whole new game as you had the hyper emeralds as well as the chaos ones and that was a great game. Adding Sonic 2 allowed you to play that game as Knuckles.
Adding any other game gave you an error message but pressing A, B, C, and start opened a bonus level like the sphere ones from Sonic 3.
