Pasta puttanesca. No anchovy for me, but some falafel on the side.

@RogerRoger I'd love me some Coco Pops. Haven't had those in... a long while.

@Kidfried Yum! I mentioned in another thread about how puttanesca is my favourite. I love falafel too.

Coco Pops were my breakfast cereal every day until a year or so ago, but now I have Cheerios or porridge.

Chicken jalapeno and cheese lean pocket. Yummy, filling, and only 290 calories. Also had some seasoned ground beef.

@Kidfried Some things you just never grow out of (although I totally failed my inner child this morning by opting for black coffee and Greek yoghurt instead, so I might have the Coco Pops for a late evening snack).

I'm ashamed to admit, however, that I've no idea what this puttanesca stuff is.

@mookysam I remembered, I almost thought about tagging you!

@RogerRoger It's a pretty simple recipe, but not that well known. It's main ingredients are tomatoes, olives, capers and a lot of garlic. The taste is very intense and a bit brine.

And coffee is a great idea. I'll make one now!

@Kidfried I usually have it every week and could probably quite happily eat it more often that that. Occasionally I make focaccia to go with it, but normally just garlic bread with nutritional yeast in the garlic butter.

@RogerRoger Oh you're missing out! It's a rich, garlicky and spicy tomato sauce with olives, capers and traditionally anchovies, although I don't add those. It is actually very easy to make and extremely yummy. It really has nothing to do with prostitutes, although in Italy it is supposedly looked down on as cupboard food.

Edit: Kidfried explained first, sorry I didn't see.

@Kidfried I was with you until you specified "a lot of garlic". I tend to only like garlic in small doses. I'll try anything once, though, so I'll keep my eyes (and mouth, I guess) open!

Oh, and your coffee? Remember to make it as black as midnight on a moonless night.

EDIT: Don't worry about your edit, @mookysam as I'm now editing to note your edit! This is what happens when we're all online at the same time. Chaos!

@RogerRoger I'm sorry, I have a pretty strict coffee schedule. One black coffee with breakfast, two black coffee during work and one cappuccino (oat milk) after dinner.

Black coffee is the best, but if I have one now, I won't be able to sleep until 3 am!

@mookysam Hmm, focaccia... garlic bread... Now I regret not having any of that with my dinner!

EDIT: Here's an edit too!

Had some nasi goreng tonight!

@beemo Fried rice, made with leftover vegetables & chicken, sambal, sweet soy sauce, and fish sauce. I had some extra veggies on the side and some satay sauce.

@Kidfried You're like me! Except my schedule covers black coffee (AM) and cinnamon tea (PM). When I'm out and about, sometimes I'll go for cappuccino or, if I need cheering up, a mocha but rarely after 5pm otherwise, you're right, sleep is impossible (and I have enough trouble with that anyway). If I wanna avoid bed entirely, a single black coffee after midday is all I need to pull an all-nighter.

In other words, I'll save the Peaks quotes until morning, then.

@RogerRoger My favourite cinnamon tea is by Pukka. It's actually called "vanilla chai", but mostly tastes of cinnamon. I used to have black (one and a half heaped teaspoons!) coffee every day but it started upsetting my stomach. That annoyed me, I can tell you. I only have non-herbal tea when I'm at my Mum's.

@mookysam I'll add that to my list, thanks. I generally get tea from T2 but always love trying out variations if and when I can, despite having pretty much settled on their cinnamon tea as my primary blend.

Your reaction to coffee is apparently quite common. I live in fear of that potential day.

I am currently eating my minestrone leftovers from two days ago. A bit unconventional as breakfast maybe, but I forgot to buy oats.

Yesterday I had falafel, today's going to be risotto I think.

Gosh darn it, all I've eaten today is a pair of Weetabix with a banana sliced on top... about eight hours ago, no wonder I'm hungry! I should go and eat something!

Tomorrow is treat day; KFC, here I come. Ouch, okay, thinking about that doesn't help!

Ive just had Lamb Rogan Josh, basmalti rice, poppadoms and mango chutney. With 20 onion rings and breaded mushrooms. Followed by chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream.

Good times at Hungry Horse.
