Thought this might be a good topic, especially since, on a personal level, I am transitioning from Books to Newspapers and Magazines in terms of my consumption of the printed word. So, to kick things off, I am prinicipally interested in Newspapers like the Financial Times Weekend Edition (particularly for it's Life and Arts section) and Magazines such as Wisden Cricket Monthly ,EMPIRE and Jazzwise
What about you?
Do you like music magazines like Mojo ? Gaming magazines like Play? Papers like The Guardian or The Times ? Feel free to share your favourites or perhaps try and discover with others a Paper or Mag that you may enjoy.
Edit: Since I have been asked why I am moving away from Literature, I will paste my explanation from another thread.
"I may actually choose to leave things there, after finishing Remembrance of Things Past because of a)the feeling that I have read enough of the literature that I am interested in already and b)the fact that it would free up my time to focus on activities that I would like to devote more time to, i.e reading manga, watching films, playing acoustic guitar, exploring art and listening to music, and c)It is one of the best books I have read, so far, and feels like good place to leave it."
"Preoccupied with a single leaf, you won’t see the tree. Preoccupied with a single tree, you’ll miss the entire forest. Don't be preoccupied with a single spot. See everything in its entirety...effortlessly. That is what it means...to truly "see." "
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN I used to read EMPIRE religiously, but after a while I felt they had sold out for exclusives of BTS of the soulless Hollywood blockbusters.
Gaming magazines were also a big deal from my teens into my 20's until the Internet took over.
Been many a year since I read magazines. Devoured them up until the late 90s, EMPIRE being a favourite of mine as well. My first subscription (and first issue received) was this golden oldie:
and kept it well into the days of "Amiga User".
Wish I had hung on to these old issues, would have loved to browse through them now.
The last magazine I subscribed to and read somewhat regularly was a Norwegian magazine about history that I enjoyed. It managed to hang on for a while after most publications died but eventually it went digital only, and so I lost interest.
@RogueCooper I mainly read the classics, and, thus, there is a limited well to draw from, as most of the authors are, well, dead, now. And I feel I have read almost all the ones I want to read now, plus I am getting more interested in art, and art books, instead.

@RogueCooper I have done exhaustive research and just feel like the book I am reading atm is a good one to finish on, none of the remaining books I have an interest in are as appealing to me, based on what I know of them. I have little interest in modern literature, as I don't like the modern style so much. I have read and enjoyed some Camus and Hemingway, though, and Jon Fosse, but I much prefer writers like Thomas Hardy and Thomas Mann.
I mostly like work by black abstract artists, european abstract art, surrealism, cubism etc. ,anything outside of the mainstream really. Currently studying artists like George Grosz, a favourite of mine, who worked between the two World Wars. Yourself?
Edit: Also impressive that you studied art and graphic design, and it's great that you still engage in the medium with your kids, you should post something you've done in The Art Thread ,sometime.

Jumping into the ongoing discussion in the “Newspapers/Magazines” thread on the PushSquare forums, it’s interesting to see how people debate print vs digital, subscriptions, and what counts as a “real” gaming‑publication experience. Many argue that physical magazines brought formality and ritual to reading game previews, while others say online platforms offer immediacy and wider reach. In the same way, when you’re talking about tracking your lifestyle - whether it’s reading habits, health habits, or even your fasting windows - tools like a smart fasting tracker or a service such as Wellness‑App (visit https://wellness-app.com/) can bring structure, feedback and accountability. Just as the gaming community examines how we consume information, we can similarly use these tools to examine how we consume time and energy - balancing reading, gaming and downtime intentionally.
