I'm not 100% on the subtitle "The Dial of Destiny"
Haven't looked at the trailer myself yet (Last time I tried watching Raiders I unfortunately fell asleep) but I was gonna comment on the subtitle myself being rather naff in my humble opinion
Didn't actually think of phones like you did, went straight to a sundial but that suggestion of yours is quite amusing! 😅

@HallowMoonshadow Of course your head went to a sundial; you're a fantasy fan, after all!
Well it's either that or a moondial? Unless it really is a phone... Maybe some fancy schmancy Crystal headed Alien tech? Or do we wanna forget those exist still?
Been a while since I've watched it but Oblivion was pretty darn good from what I remember. I don't like it quite as much as the other Tom Cruise Sci-Fi vehicle Edge Of Tomorrow/Live Die Repeat (or whatever ya wanna call it) that came out a few years after.
It's still rather nice with some good looking sets and the soundtrack/score was really good too. Don't wanna say too much about the plot but it was a good time too. As JudgeDredd says TC really does have one hell of a day!
@RogerRoger Another endorsement for Oblivion here. Say what you will about Tom Cruise, but he’s got a Midas touch for good movies (in my opinion). I’ll agree with Foxy that I liked Edge of Tomorrow a smidge better, partly due to being a gamer and the respawn storyline really resonates and partly because it’s one of the few times you see Cruise play a more vulnerable and cowardly character. Nevertheless Oblivion is close behind it due to the really great plot. Like Judge says, hope you haven’t had the plot spoiled, but even if you have, it’s really good. Both movies will scratch a Sci-Fi action itch if you have one.

Second this, both are great movies. I remember going into Edge of Tomorrow at the cinema expecting an entertaining but mediocre scifi action movie only to be surprised at just how much personality and humor the whole thing contained. Also loved that the alien's actually look completely alien and not just humans in body paint or fur suits.
Considering I have a lil' Crystal Skull alien sitting on my desk, I'd be happy with that connection but you're right, I doubt anybody else would be, so it's probably not that!
... Ya know I'm not surprised in the slightest you do. Is it an actual model or one from lego? 😄
From what I recall I didn't actually mind Crystal Skull either (Though I recall thinking the russians weren't as intimidating or memorable as you the you know who from 1st and 3rd films). I kinda loved Temple Of Doom the most as a kid personally so... I'm not exactly one to talk about Indy's outings
He made that awful reboot of The Mummy watchable, for instance
Thanks for reminding me that existed
... But you're right in TC did make it enjoyable enough. The Brendan Fraiser flick is such a good time. 90's as flip but damn it is good with some great casting & performaces!

@RogerRoger Love the first two Brendan Fraser The Mummy films. Not so much the third one. They are ideal for when you want to watch something to switch the ol noggin off too.

@LN78 I really dislike that movie. Schlock works when characters are likeable but literally every single person in it is terrible. Richard Curtis is either great or rubbish though, Four Weddings and About Time are brilliant and then there’s Yesterday.
@LN78 That’s true enough and I have liked Himesh Patel since his time in Eastenders! It’s just such an out of touch movie though, like if you took the British establishment and funnelled them through a McDonalds mincer. Richard Curtis might as well just direct adverts about the poor donkeys who get overworked to death at Christmas time. I just can’t believe he wasn’t involved with that horrid Imagine video released during the pandemic.
@LN78 Danny Boyle seems to have aged about 20 years since not doing that Bond movie. Next he’ll be directing a movie about some sort of animal that survived WW2.
My latest 4K Blu Ray purchases are Batman Returns and The Sting, for 12 quid each. Not seen either for an age and the latter only once I believe, but did enjoy it at the time. Got some random odd days off shortly before the main Christmas break, so should be able to watch them then.

@RogerRoger I’d forgotten all about those movies but used to love them. Actually, I think a rewatch-marathon could be perfect for the missus and I on a cold winter Sunday afternoon 👍
