Fast Five was way better than the 4th one, having The Rock totally upped the stupidity/fun. It’s cool they got random dude #2 back from the first movie as well, the franchise seemingly has better continuity than the MCU outside of the whole Tokyo Drift confusion. It’s great having so many characters coming back, it really does feel like if Avengers panned across buttocks and exuded intense testosterone.
@nessisonett Yeah I think that is when they started to up the ante for the films. They get more outlandish as they go on, if you've lasted this long I've got a feeling you are going find them really entertaining to watch.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@JohnnyShoulder I actually went to the cinema to see the 7th one with my school a few years ago and was massively confused by the ties to other movies. Hopefully I’ll understand the plot more this time around!
@LN78 Does he produce any lines about boldly going somewhere man has never gone before? Is he bald? If not, long hair or just a fine head of hair, adding to his part? Is it a big part?

Fast and Furious 6, or Furious 6 (not confusing in the slightest), wasn’t bad at all. It’s full on Michael Bay territory now with Luke Evans in a tank which was pretty insane. The one, the only, the Stath is in the next one and I love/loathe him so should be fun!

Jason Statham steals the show in F7, it's such a treat to see him on screen.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
Watched Border a few days ago, since I heard from a friend that it was super good.
It's a very creative movie. But, dammit it has one of the most uncomfortable and downright disturbing scenes I have ever seen! It made me let out an audible "what the f**k?!!!"
It is a really good watch, though. One of those films that everyone should see once...and once only.
Dunno if it’s technically a movie but having never properly watched wrestling outside of a few times when I was about 8, I dug out my brother’s old copy of Wrestlemania X-Seven and it was a blast/hilariously crap. It’s widely considered one of the best wrestling events of all time and I can see why, there’s a big tag-team TLC match with The Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz and Edge/Christian that was brilliant. I know most of the guys from WWF No Mercy on N64 but Edge and Christian were still around back when I used to watch it and I have a soft spot for Edge as an actor since he was in Haven with Elena from Uncharted. An interesting aside was The Iron Sheik, some dude who was big in the 80s along with a Russian guy cause they used to get beat up by ‘Murica since y’know Gulf War. Anyway, the terrible acting, clearly fake punches and awful half an hour of McMahon family ‘drama’ was outshined by plenty of fun, over-the-top action and a great showdown between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin at the end. Shame The Undertaker was in his terrible biker phase and came out to the sultry notes of Rollin’ by Limp Bizkit. I’ll probably have a look for more classic wrestling stuff but might need to find a VHS player since some of my dad’s old stuff is on tape (that I have no idea why my mum still has, secret Macho Man Randy Savage stan perhaps?)
Return of the King (extended edition) - I've seen the original of this the least out of all three, so I didn't really pick up on a lot of the added scenes. It's a good time, I'm not a big fan of the army of the dead, I believe Jackson did not really want to include them either, but I think he made the best of it.
The ending was a bit of a gut punch though, maybe I was feeling a bit weepier than usual and I am pretty invested in the characters as a result of reading through the book at the same time.
All in all I had a great time watching through the extended versions of these films for the first time, and the Fellowship of the Ring remains the best one by far. Might get on to The Hobbit movies now after all!
@RogerRoger The first one’s a great movie, I remember watching it for the first time on my PS2! It’s pretty hilarious that Johnny Depp was up for an Oscar for his performance though, like really? I definitely agree that Geoffrey Rush is great though, he hams it up brilliantly.
Didn’t expect Fast and Furious 7 to be quite so emotional at the end there. Like I said, I saw it in the cinema with my school but that was out of context with the other movies. CGI Paul Walker was a bit freaky, almost as bad as Supes’ lip but after watching him in so many movies by this point, it was pretty heartbreaking.
I do really enjoy the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The first movie is genuinely a rather good movie, and 2 and 3 are fine in a guilty pleasure sense.
I don't remember much of Pirates of the Caribbean 4, but I wasn't terribly impressed by it.
Can anyone recommend any movies along the lines of Inherent Vice?
