If worst comes to worst, we can all just fall back to playing as Wolverine in Marvel Cosmic Invasion haha. The demo was surprisingly good, even with the half baked ameteur voice acting sprinkled in here and there. I'm not blinded by nostalgia, and based on what I've played, MCI mops the floor with the original 1992 X-Men arcade game, as it should since it's a 30-something year old beat em up. Mind you, the 1992 original still has a fantanstic presentation, strong art direction and sound design that hold so much artistic merit and ooze's the early 90's.
Man is time flying. I'm approaching 42, and i still don't look it nor feel it. People think I look 8-10 years younger than my age, and a couple of my nieces still say I look like I'm in my 20's. But when you're a bit of a health freak, and eat incredibly healthy(It's almost like a bootcamp regimine on my end), exercise, avoid the bad stuff, rarely drink, don't smoke(etc), plus genetics, it all goes a long way. And, having killer cheak bones doesnt hurt either. lol High quality Extra Virgin Olive oil and organic Cacao powder/nibs are two of the best de-agers that i take on a regular basis, both of which include many other benfiits.
Cacao, especially quality cermenonial grade, or if you can actually find organic regular cacao that's fresh(Should have a potent rich aroma) also enhances your mood, and makes you more creative, because it contains Adandamide, aka, the 'bliss molecule'. I can't live without it. Whenever i do decide to game or watch a movie, I always take cacao prior(Including healthy fats & protein) because it just makes everything far more enjoyable, you're more honed in and the caffiene will kick up your energy.
Anyways, i still need to respond to a few other posts you sent my way. Including our conversation about the dreaded(Drum roll...) Masters of the Universe(2026). I'll defend the 1987 original to the heavens and back, warts and all. Frank Langella is all you need to know. No brainer! Best on-screen villian performance of all Time. Darth vader is nothing by comparison.
I mean really, I can't think of a single comic/cartoon based on-screen villian that has come close to topping Skelator's Monlogue below. Frank's theatre background and his deep, resonant and powerful commanding Shakesperian voice is unmatched imo. I mean, you've got Tim Cury & Daniel Day Lewis, and ya they're fantastic(Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York for ex) in their own right, sure. But I don't think either would of been able to pull this role off in particular, not nearly as well. And as always, Dolph looks like a god, like a super solider from another universe as Sly put it.
The new He-man? Not a chance. Like you pointed out earlier, Trap-Jaw(His opening fight against Man-at-arms in particular.) and skelator's overall appearance and throne design were the highlites. Even though those beedy red soulless eyes detracted from Leto's performance, regardless of staying true to the source material and skelator's original iconic cartoon & comic book design. Leto's voice was also completely altered and motified, while Langella was using his actual voice. That says a lot right there! And even with leto's motified voice, it still paled in comparison to Frank's.
@1:15 and onwards never gets old MOTU(87) is easily my favourite bad-good movie of all time.
@WaveBoy I have to say seeing Frank Langella first thing in the morning was such a good surprise, his Skeletor is one of my favorite characters. Which I've probably said multiple times.

I thought you meant the X-Men game I tried on the Sega Mega-Drive game, it's really good. There's a Hulk one I tried too, you start as him as a man, collect pills, then become The Hulk and that part is really good. If you take enough damage you become the man again and then basically die.

I think older more mature people are more interesting but you have a unique flair in that you have your inner-child, I've read so many posts on here and you capture a genuine Christmas morning kind of energy, it's because you truly love what you talk about. When I do it people say I talk too much, it's possible but I kind of don't care what they think now. In a good way.

Living healthy is always a good thing, I tend to do two-hours exercise each day, it's too important not to. I don't do the things like going for a run or a walk, but I can and do on exercise machines. I've never smoked before, I've never been allowed, I'm allowed wine and champagne but that's it. The genetics side I'm not sure about, my own I mean, the things I see as important aren't seen as important around Others in my offline, they think I care too much when I shouldn't, I can't not, it's automatic.
And, having killer cheak bones doesnt hurt either.
Sorry that made me laugh, in a good way and it was needed. I thought by now my stomach would be better, I woke-up again and yet again had to see the doctor. They said it's worse because I technically hadn't eaten since last-week, food is complicated. I've been working through that thing my whole life. They said it would take three-days, it's again the weekend. I did burp and sounded like a sheep, which I think is funny and I do think you have to laugh sometimes at even the bad, so I laughed.

Do you do physical training, for definition and muscle, to be toned? It sounds like you do, I have a personal Trainer but I don't bulk up, it's to keep definition. It's also because to keep a healthy mind you need to keep a healthy body, I'm going to do cartwheels when I'm better. The last forty-eight hours have been a squeezed stomach, a storm in my forehead (brain?) and shivering like I was dipped in a frozen lake, I've been trying to game and can't. I've just been talking to people here and elsewhere, I don't take health for granted, I'm grateful for it and I'll be equally grateful when it lifts. Today I tried toast, so far so good.

I had to take time to ponder what DET said about God, which will probably be more pondering later. I don't understand how God can be God and Jesus who is also his son, as in at the same time. That really made me smile because it matches my feelings about him too. I saw it one Christmas when I was perhaps fifteen, I'm not sure why but it became a comfort movie. I think it could be because it was a really good Christmas and it captured that really wonderful energy. I'm not sure why Judge Dredd is a comfort movie but I have been pondering it and I told Tsarkastic that I'm thinking about writing a post about the character and his world, a way to practice writing, he said he'd like to read it so if and when I do I'll share it one the new thread. The infamous land of walls of posts, I like it though.

Did He-Man have comics? I know you grew up with the franchise, I've seen The Toys That Made Us, did you have a favorite toy-line? someone recently told me they had StarWars toys, @Werehog has Godzillas, @Tjuz probably has Barbies, I think my fear for the future is that children won't know physical toys. My childhood was physical toys, it wasn't perfect but when something is physical it to me has personality, my actual stuffed animals now are like my children. When you mentioned that people lose their inner-child, I thought 'I haven't' then 'has everyone else?', I think life and the world got in the way. I love gaming, but I do worry about children losing that tactile, tangible something.

I actually haven't watched Gangs of New York, it's like the Keanu Reeves movie that I should remember the name of but can't, it's newer, he shoots a lot of people. I've yet to watch those.

When you were growing up did it feel like every week there was a new Stallone or Dolph movie? When I look at someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger he has countless movies, most I've seen, now I look at cinema and I don't know who anyone even is. For me it's a late start and watching in the correct order, for you it's living through the correct order in the there and then. Which is fascinating to me, it just seems like everything was better back then. So new and exciting, now everyone knows what game, movie, everything, is being made, they are part of the beginning the middle and the end. Surprise is lacking and surprise is to me magic, it seems like we enable ourselves to lose some of that too.

I liked him Trap-Jaw, I'd almost watch it again just for him, I like his interchangeable arms too, I didn't even know Jared Leto was Skeletor, that came as a huge surprise on the credits. I tried to visually picture him and that voice, I still can't. It's because I listened to Thirty Seconds to Mars for years.
Leto's voice was also completely altered and motified, while Langella was using his actual voice. That says a lot right there! And even with leto's motified voice, it still paled in comparison to Frank's.
Oh you mean they used A.I. or post-production and it wasn't even his own voice? That part I didn't know, I'll be honest I lost respect for him after he went strange and started a cult, I once really liked him. I was a big fan of his music, not so much anymore, but 'The Kill' and 'Hurricane' are still works of art. The kill everyone knows the 'bury me bury me' and shot like The Shining, the Hurricane is very Adult, but it also holds personal meaning so I respect what it tried to show and do. Parts are accurate.

It's funny you say favorite 'bad' movie, for longest time bad to me meant terrible, then I started seeing it being used to describe bad movies and games that should be a kind of 'this is a waste of time', it's not. Instead bad becomes 'comfort', many people tell me 'oh kat the nineties Judge Dredd is terrible', to them yes absolutely but to me it's really comforting. I saw it when I was seven, it was like seeing a whole new world of literal explosions, colour, characters who weren't Disney. It did something, I'm not sure what or how, I'm older now and in a position to really figure out why the character means so much to me, eventually I'll write about it. It's a question I can and have to answer for myself, no one else can.

I also volunteered for a Cheetah rehabilitation (rescuing and relocating cheetahs, that may otherwise be in danger or injured). Both places were wonderfully remote, but one in the south the other further north, and Namibia changes so much as you make that journey - barren shrubland to dense bush.
I really admire anyone who works with animals, I actually prefer them more to people (no offense) and relate to them more than people so for anyone to dedicate their time to something like that and to travel all the way to South West Africa too, that's really big. I lived in South Africa for one Summer, I was a child and hardly remember it but uprooting oneself is still a major effort and double that for an Adult. Are cheetahs your favorite animals?
It's just so random of a thing to do, highly admirable but most people don't put themselves so far out there to help animals. I tried once. We were in Morocco for something not too long ago. I have a very big fear of being outside but I kept seeing a lot and I mean a lot of stray animals. Their soldiers were fining tourists for feeding them. They wanted them to die so they could have cleaner streets for a sports event. A country is it's own rule to me, I generally respect the Host, not that time. It to me felt cruel and barbaric. I've seen stray animals before, I travel frequently and many countries in the part of the world need to work on their animal rights and their human rights.
That day something inside clicked. I got really angry and started gathering food from our hotel and myself and my People started feeding those animals. Was it wrong? not to me. They were skin and bones on four legs, they could have done it a better way and should have done it a better way so excuse my French but fudge whoever allows that to happen. It was a diplomatic appointment meaning no one said boo to us like they did those tourists, they didn't want static or some kind of incident. It's a kind of normal for us when we travel and I know my rights under it, i.e. not just ceremonially and legally, I can't for example be removed at the drop of a hat, there's a level of immunity to local laws too and I knew both very well that day. Those tourists weren't immune, they were milking tourists for thousands of dollars just for feeding animals who were left to rot.
It's the one good thing I know I've done for animals when they absolutely needed it. I did join PETA and left, it was a really bad fit. Those women were older and awful, they didn't care about animals it was all keeping up appearances, which unfortunately has been my experience with a lot of major organization. It's like the stickers with the stars for them, more charities more stars. Most if not al of my charity work involves children now. I have my reasons for that too. I hope you stayed in touch with the people you met there. I've said it before you never know what kind of good people are behind their controller or mouse, and the good far outweighs the bad. People can say nasty things and play nasty head-games but they are a grain of sand compared to a whole universe of life. And you obviously care about all forms of life, not just your own. I see that as a really good person.

Conan is a mixed bag. I love survival games and I'm fine with jank, that game was very broken and very wooden. The same Developer made Dune which is a lot smoother and seems to be doing well for itself. I think Doki Doki is my only visual novel, I'd been trying new genres again, I like doing that and a big part of why I use Plus+ is to find obscure games that I'd never find on my own. I never see a bad month because each addition is usually something I've never tried. My attitude going in is always 'I've never tried this one'. If I go in expecting something my expectations will never be satisfied because in my experience people are very hard to please, cheetahs only need some food, a warm bed and a hug or two. I'm not saying I have a pet cheetah, I don't keep wild animals as pets, but I did grow up around a lot of bears, wolves and foxes.

I'm not sure I have a favourite animal, could be spotted hyenas, Rats, foxes, sloths, vultures even the humble pigeon among a hundred others. But I loved that every day I was seeing something new in Namibia - I just love seeing wildlife going about its business (I am scared of spiders, mind).
I think the UK has a collective guilt over killing half our wildlife, so we've developed into a nation of animal lovers (although we continue to fight organised upper class-led 'fox hunting'). It's rare to see a stray pet here though, but I know it's an issue elsewhere.

I completely agree. Particularly in these times, there's a very loud minority of horrible people, often swayed through manipulation as they fight their own fights to the whims of a very few greedy, insecure men.
But most people will just accept people and their differences, we all like to have a joke, we're social before territorial animals - community is what helped us thrive as a species.

That's amazing you've seen wild wolves and bears though. Obviously don't want to be so close, but I'd definitely end up injuring myself trying to feed the bears chocolate all the time. I'll bare that in mind if I go camping somewhere with bears though - any wildlife encounters you've had that particularly stayed with you?
And I studied 'wildlife conservation' at university - mostly scientific, but covered zoology, ecology, ethics, politics and all sorts. Really interesting and varied.

Interesting about Conan, I'm not sure it'll be my kind of game. I like an open world game, but I like a story to follow that you don't always get with survival games.
You're right - ultimately a game has one job - to keep your attention. whether that's fun gameplay or a good story. PS+ is perfect as you don't feel compelled to play something you've spent a lot of money on.

It's aged very poorly gameplay wise, but it's still a fantastic world. It's incredibly weird and atmospheric, with pretty scary dungeons. It's still worth checking out if you don't mind janky combat, best (and strangest) story, writing and world of the series.

Foxes are my favorite, I love them so much but I'm been frequently told I can't leave food outdoors for them because they'll depend on that food and forget to hunt. I love everything about them, their fur their colours their barking noises, their amazing ears, I collect ears. Not as in actual ears, the ones on headbands that you wear. If you ever heard of Samson? he had strength in his hair, I like to localize that strength into those ears. I dislike spiders so much that in Satisfactory I turn them into Developer's cats.

I'm of that class and did feel a little 'oh' when you mentioned Elites to me, I've learned to understand that perspective. I did throw Someone's rifle in a lake because they were engaging in hunting for sport. I was born with a rifle in my hands, I've pulled everything with a trigger from small handguns to large high caliber rifles, but my class in Russia and the English class is different. I don't hunt for sport and I personally don't shoot any living animal. My Family aren't just hunters they understand the wildlife around us, we respect it. People culling badgers and hunting foxes, makes me sick.

Ask away I'm thinking of changing my name to 'kat likes to over-share'. It's a culture thing, if we care (about you) we share. People from England have said it's a little odd, I think it's odd to say so little when the world is so big and life is for learning. I've asked all kinds of questions here, the English word I identify with is sheltered, it doesn't bother me, if people talk I listen, it's all learning. Can it backfire? sure, just recently someone with far too much time on their hands doxxed my ex-girlfriend and created a profile here with her picture, I thought she'd joined here herself. I should feel 'gr how dare they', but I don't, I feel sorry for anyone with that mindset, I added them to my prayers.
My Dad was involved in diplomacy for the later years of his life. His fear for me was that I'd grow up cold and corporate, he didn't want me to value things over people. I don't and never will. His fix was to first bring me to battlefields and then concentration camps. He wanted me to understand the cost of conflict, not just war profiteering. Part of that too was to accompany him as he worked, we went everywhere together from places like Toga and Iraq to North Korea, most of it was very mundane and one address to the next. I did come away from it with an appreciation of different cultures, different struggles. I saw a lot of the latter, it gave me real gratitude for what I have and who I am.
My Dad was still a businessman at heart, but he tried to make a difference so my respect for him will never waver. My Partner is involved in something similar, we're at our core economic nomads but it's all boots on the ground and face to face. I do use technology for things like this and gaming, other than that I live a very dated and isolated kind of life. I haven't had a lot of experience with people.
Part of that is politics too. When people ask I say England but I have a string of addresses and speak eight languages, there's no choice there and we do move around quite a lot. It sounds more exciting than it is. I like my peace and quiet. There's a kind of priceless self mastery that come with solitude, not being part of your (outside) world then becomes a boon. People like Friedrich Nietzsche are an inspiration to me for that same reason. It's helped me to reject the negative and focus primarily on positive free-will, to address my own weaknesses and to deal with them head-on, it's how I live my life.
The world has become a mix of highly detailed screen-savers and draw distance. I know obviously the world/your world is real, I've just seen very little of it but from the air or driving passed. I personally believe in peace, right now there is none, in a way what my Dad said did come to pass and everyone has seen it play out on the television news now for years. For the longest time there was a kind of personal weight a kind of responsibility, I've learned to remind myself that guilt by association isn't true guilt and that peace takes two heads not one. I do wish for peace and I pray for it. I'm too close to the source to not feel something, life has become very strange, or it always was and I didn't notice until others from here and elsewhere told me so. I had no reference point for normality, I do like gaming but I have many hobbies and I'm mainly here to listen, talk and learn.

I had the wrong idea of PETA, I did think their core reason for being was to help and save animals. It's hard to word other than there's a kind of Scientology side to them, such as if you climb the ranks of the Sea-Org it to me is no different. The ideology becomes the same, the words and the messages, the 'oh yes we love you', they don't, they love what you represent and they need representation more than actual money, it's all about the name, the image and keeping up appearances so that they can catch the smaller fish, indoctrinate them and bleed them dry throughout their entire lifespan.
There's the way they campaign too, I don't like seeing animals harmed. Someone once sent me a video on a chatroom it was of bunnys playing then it cut to something else involving those bunnys. I never removed their screams from my mind, of the images. When I saw the PETA campaigns 'to bring awareness' I felt that same dread, threw-up and heard those screams again. I told one of the women and they said 'good', as in it was good that I was shocked into action. I was thirteen when I saw those bunnys, it wasn't good it broke something. So for that woman to tell me that putting posters around London with animals injured and abused is 'good?', absolutely nothing I want to be involved with. There are better ways to bring awareness and children see those images too, it should be illegal to do that.
With children it's different. I grew-up with everything as in physical toys, but no human connection with anyone until I was much older, so I don't really identify all that much with humans to begin with, the disconnection from their world helps to reinforce that. There are two reasons why I picked children. That's the first. The second is that I lived through all of those things Parents warn about on Roblox, I think it too broke something. That kind of thing doesn't discriminate between class, I have my ways to tackle that problem. One of them is through different organizations and what I've come to see is that there is a massive divide or wealth gap in Western Europe. When it's Adults it's easier to talk about, when it's children things get a little watery. I do what I can to make a difference, children deserve every chance in the world and they are the future of the world. My thinking is if they are taken care of, they'll take care of themselves and of others. I think all a child really needs is a chance, a chance to be someone. I don't believe people are their situation. Once you improve or remove them from that situation their inner light really shines and they too see themselves for who they are, not what they are.

Yes Comrade, sorry I've never called anyone that on here before and I needed a little laugh after what I just said, it gets to me. I can say I understand poverty but I can't really, just the idea of it. There's a heaviness to that topic yes but turning a blind eye isn't the answer either. There's a constant balance of doing it for the right reason and not doing it for one's own Ego, I try to do it just to do it.
If I saw a Siberian tiger I'd run faster than my legs can carry me. They do attack and eat people, they are beautiful but I'd never take that risk. I've seen understanding in the eyes of a bear, certain younger wolves too but a tiger is a natural born predator and if they want to eat you they will.
I'll bare that in mind if I go camping somewhere with bears though - any wildlife encounters you've had that particularly stayed with you?
What's camping like? I've seen it in movies and do go into the forest to shoot but never stay the night. It's mainly survival training, running around the forest with fatigues and playing soldier. I like it because it helps to keep a bond with the Men around me, it's important. Women in my society are naturally seen as less than and we have not equality etc. And yet I can out-shoot them all, it's a good feeling.
I can tell you a funny bear story. Many moons ago (it was day time) we'd gotten back from visiting someone. They'd given me a kind of chocolate cake. I'd left it in the back of one of the vehicles and gone back inside. Some time passed and I started to hear gun fire (small arms) I ran for my own and looked outside. Some of the guys were shooting in the air because a bear had gotten through the perimeter and come looking for my cake. It was about to tear the door off a range rover, they break into homes and vehicles for sweet things. I learned to not leave chocolates out again.
And I studied 'wildlife conservation' at university - mostly scientific, but covered zoology, ecology, ethics, politics and all sorts. Really interesting and varied.
Zoology sounds brilliant, and ecology too. I'm not sure what the financial return is like but choosing to do that rather than banking or to be a stockbroker says a lot about your character. It's very easy to take our Planet for granted, I'm glad someone else isn't. I say 'Our', it's not, we're all just visiting, we have no God given right to destroy it or to exterminate wildlife on an industrial scale. And yet we do.

@Werehog What you said about not feeling welcome in the comments section of certain articles, I understand it now. I just saw exactly what you described. I told them outright that their money isn't any greener than that of someone from the LGBT community. I've talked to a lot of people on here and there are clearly a lot of colourful people here. Colourful is meant as a compliment because I believe a life with colour is a life with love, learning or growth and an ability to see the world and life for what it is. Not to hide away in the shadows groaning at everyone else who is out there enjoying all life has to offer, including a life with the people they love. It really bothered me seeing what you described, I hadn't been really paying attention before. I don't necessarily identify as LGBT myself, more so that I have no limits when it comes to who I love, I see people not gender. What you said did stick with me, it made me wonder how many other people hush away because of that kind of attitude.
It took someone trying to run me off this site recently until I really understood that kind of utter distaste for someone, for me it wasn't gender it was me as a person and it didn't work. It reminded me what you said about how even holding hands in public can be seen as an opportunity for remarks or stares. I didn't know that happened in England, or online. My only reference-point before talking to people like you and Tjuz was seeing LGBT people being jailed and worse, it made me break rank and question everything I've been told my entire life about gay people, and about it being 'wrong'. I didn't understand the hate then nor do I now.
I read what you said again and I'm of the opinion that if someone has to duck and dodge articles/comments then aren't they already in prison? I'm not saying it will make much a difference, but seeing it today brought about a reaction. Had you not shared what you did I wouldn't have even noticed it. A couple of people have told me to avoid the comments that they are kind of lawless but I don't believe that, I do believe that you aren't the minority, I believe that ignorance is and that you shouldn't have to apologize for who or what you are. What I'm saying is ignore the haters, not everyone thinks that way. Also Tjuz said you are winning at the fantasy critic game, I thought we were, you certainly know how to pick a winner.

I hope you thought about taking more screenshots too, I have such a collection of Crimson Desert ones piling up and can't add them all. It has such a beautiful world, I've never followed so many NPCs around and watched how they naturally react/go about their day. I found a cat-farm yesterday too, there are thirty and the biggest cat tower known to man or beast. I think I'll still be playing this one-month from now. It's incredibly big, with so much to see do, experience and I still have to start the main story. Also I picked my first StarTrek to watch but haven't yet. It's called The Wrath of Khan, it sounds good and it has Ricardo Montalban as Khan, I'm kind of watching it for him too. He's a good looking man, over cast as a Latin lover in movies and so much television.

I thought you meant the X-Men game I tried on the Sega Mega-Drive game, it's really good. There's a Hulk one I tried too, you start as him as a man, collect pills, then become The Hulk and that part is really good. If you take enough damage you become the man again and then basically die.
I'm talking about the recent X-Men/Marvel beat em up which released earlier this year back in April. It's quality stuff! Definitely in league with TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. With Mighty Morphin Power Ranger's: Rita's Rewind(At least after the laundry list of updates.) trickling not too far behind. Plus, we've got that He-Man & TMOTU beat em up slated for 2027, which has been delayed three times now, called Dragon Pearl of Destruction. Now If only it was based on the live action 1987 film. But hey, I'll take an adaption from the original 1983 cartoon series, over the latest 2026 abonimation any day.

And it's from the same developers who helmed Terminator 2D: NO FATE, which i remember you saying positive things about. And are you referring to X-Men(93') on Sega Genesis? I actually owned that one around the time it came out. Must of been a Birth-day present. Rentals were the norm for most of us. B-days and Christmas's we're our only real chance to actually receive and own video games or consoles, unless we sold off stacks of our used games to put towards whatever that was new. And after recently checking out some YouTube game play footage, I don't think i could ever bring myself to go back to it. The SFX and music are beyond grating, and straight up ear piercing. Plus, voice overs in Genesis games tend to sound as if somebody is screaming while drowning in a sea of electricity. That Genesis sound is always hit and miss. JPN composers tended to usually knock it out of the park, compared to what NA composers were whipping out.
I think older more mature people are more interesting but you have a unique flair in that you have your inner-child, I've read so many posts on here and you capture a genuine Christmas morning kind of energy, it's because you truly love what you talk about. When I do it people say I talk too much, it's possible but I kind of don't care what they think now. In a good way.
Thanks, I appreciate that! Trying to hold on a retain that child-like spark and wonderment can be a difficult task for most people that enter their 30's & 40's. Even Michael Jackson, once he entered his 40's, no joke, according to one of his body guards, would jump in his Mickey Mouse PJ's(With a big bow tie to match. lol) late at night and would watch episodes of The Simpsons, and whatever else. That was just one of his ways of trying to just hold on, retain and maintain his inner child, which was needed and required on his end to get those creative juices flowing. MJ had Peter Pan Sydrome. He feared growing old, both physically and mentally. I too am kind of obsessed with looking and feeling the best i can. Video games fall in the backseat, as passionate as I am about the hobbie, including 80's & 90's pop culture, amongst other things. Nutrition, exersise & maintenance are number one. Like they say, your two most important assets in life are Health & youth. When you look good, you feel good after all.

And didn't you say you were in your 20's? I would kill to go back to 26/27 again. There's pro's and cons, but I just I fet a little different. And being that age was fantastic, because my childhood memories still felt like yesterday, where as now 2005 and onwards does. My enthusiasn and passion towards what i was into was just on a higher level that I haven't quite managed to gain back. I was a little more eccentric and spiritual back then too. These days, i struggle with my faith on the daily. Yet if you don't have faith, you've got nothing imo. How could one possibly enjoy their hobbies if they truly believed that this was the only life we had? And that it's lights out or 'eternal oblivion' as some like to call it when this life is over. I would be in a severe state of depression if i had that perspective.

And If that were the case, which i don't believe it is, i wouldn't waste a minute gaming or watching movies(etc) anymore. My hobbies would instantly crumble to pieces and fall to the wayside. But i don't believe that, i do believe there's something amazing waiting for us after this life and i hope to god we get to see our loved ones again(If the after life is more like the 80's & 90's, than sign me up! lol). I mean, my dad's been gone for 20 years! And my mom isn't getting any younger, who I don't have the strongest relationship with on a communication level. She's impossible to have a conversation with. Unless you enjoy being constantly interupted and steam rolled over, while taking on the role of an emotional punching bag.

But ya, that's what really sucks about getting older, even though I'm not 'old' old, still just 41. Regardless, you're faced with 'life stuff' that was rarely ever prominent in my 20's. That's when life feels like 'one big whatever' which i miss. Either way, I've still got that inner childhood spark, you have to in order to game after all. It's so true! it's imporant to play as they say regardless of what age. So many people cast judgement down on adults because they game, since the stigma attached to video games is still alive and well at least with millenials, Gen X and onwards...And yet, these exact same people spend hours doom scrolling TT videos, watching YouTube, movies, stand up commedians, sports on TV ect. People love what they love at the end of they day, but a lot people like to act as if what they're into is the greatest thing ever, while they completely undermine what somebody else may be into, that they're not into, and it's really annoying. Starting pointless arguements towards the person, based on why 'this or that' are waste of time, while they're wasting time telling somebody else how to live their lives, which in the end, either way, won't penetrate, nor should it, that other persons love for whatever they're getting lambasted over. It's stupid, but it's just revealing of ones character.

I think I said something similar to you before, but sometimes ignorance really can be bliss. Your default position of acceptance and tolerance was, and still is, something to aspire to. Please know that, for every hate crime, attack, misinformation campaign, or even verbal microaggression, there's twice as many stories to champion and be positive about. Doesn't always feel that way (news reporting always skews negative; you get more clicks from a controversy than you do a celebration, and those who shout the loudest always have the least to say) but it's true. Like you say, ignore the haters!
That red armour is certainly striking! Not sure I'd wanna change it, since it really pops, especially against such a realistic backdrop. Getting lost in a game's world like that is always a treat. So long as you're still enjoying yourself, don't rush or think you should be playing anything else! Especially if there might be more cat farms to find, that sounds adorable! As for your choice of Star Trek movie, that's a popular one! Ricardo Montalbán is indeed legendary, with good reason. Before you watch it, however, I'd suggest tracking down an episode of the original television series, "Space Seed" (Season 1, Episode 22). It's where the Khan character first appeared, and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is its direct sequel, so while it might be a bit clunky by today's standards, it'll provide some crucial context. You'll also get to see a younger Mr. Montalbán, which is no bad thing! I noticed you'd asked me for a recommendation in an earlier reply and I was honestly gonna come back and say that, since it's a television franchise first and foremost, you'd get a more accurate picture starting with a couple episodes from each show. All of the Star Trek movies require a general, base-level understanding of the source material. None of them stand entirely separate.
Anyway, thanks again, and I hope this finds you happy and healthy. No matter what you might see, hear, or read, there are plenty of good people out there. You're proof of that.

Living healthy is always a good thing, I tend to do two-hours exercise each day, it's too important not to. I don't do the things like going for a run or a walk, but I can and do on exercise machines. I've never smoked before, I've never been allowed, I'm allowed wine and champagne but that's it. The genetics side I'm not sure about, my own I mean, the things I see as important aren't seen as important around Others in my offline, they think I care too much when I shouldn't, I can't not, it's automatic.

That's great! You're definitely doing more than I am, and that's good that you're sticking to your guns, it's about what it's imporant, fulfilling and what's right for you and what brings you joy and happyness, and exercise just in general is vital. No brainer. I find it wild how so many people down play the importance of nutrition/food and exersise. What good is having lots of money if you're obese and 10 days away from having a heart attack. The reality is, so many people tend to abuse their bodies just to see what they can get away with until it's too late. BTW, what kind of machine based exerising do you do? I'm thinking about buying one of those sit down/stand up heavy duty Pully weight machines. i can't stand messing with free weights. I hate having to always perfectly nail that form factor. I'd rather pull against something with a weight stack and have that resistence.

And I used to lift on and off back when I was 18-21, and I might get into that again, not just for a greater physique obviously, but i also view it as a form of meditation, and it just increases that level of self discipline, mental health, drive and motivation. I usually hit up the treadmill for about 30-40 minutes, which isn't anything special but it's something, and a better alternative to being sedentary.

And you're not missing out on anything by not smoking, unless you want premature skin aging and to damage your lungs. I think I've smoked twice in my life time as far as cigerettes go, when i was drunk at around 19 with friends, and weed on and off(I had a seasonal relationship with it) back when i was 20-21, if that even counts as the same thing, but never these days. As for drinking, i don't drink too often, but when i do i just stick to wine. Not a big fan of beer anymore, or hard liqoure(I remember Absolute Vanilla being one of the staples). But those hangovers...Ugh. I try not to over do it if i ever decide to. i really have to be in the right atmosphere with the right people to make it worth while.
Sorry that made me laugh, in a good way and it was needed. I thought by now my stomach would be better, I woke-up again and yet again had to see the doctor. They said it's worse because I technically hadn't eaten since last-week, food is complicated. I've been working through that thing my whole life. They said it would take three-days, it's again the weekend. I did burp and sounded like a sheep, which I think is funny and I do think you have to laugh sometimes at even the bad, so I laughed.

Wow. Three days without eating? Which I think you mentioned in another post, which ultimately lead to e coli? You're a trooper. I don't think I'd last one day without food. The most extreme for me was just juicing organic vegetables with an Omega juicer around 4x a day. But by the end of the day i couldn't hack it, i felt extremely agitated, anxious and hungry as hell, so I had to bounce back to solids! Juicing vegetables(etc) isn't anywhere near the same as blending fruit, veggies, healthy fats & protein in a blender since you're obviously liquifing the entire/whole food so the end result is the exact same amount of calories, fat, protein(etc) that you'd get by consuming it in whole form. Juicing just separates all of that. But it has it's purpose.

Anyways, How are you holding up with the recovery from the e coli? That's gotta suck! Take it easy obviously, which I'm sure you have been. If you're in bed, and armed with a lap top, PS5 and have Suspiria(As long as it's not the remake) playing in the background on your TV than you're set. lol And yes, whenever I'm on the phone, my cheekbone will usually end the call by accidentaly hiting the end call button. There's been too many times, where i don't even realise it. I'll be yapping away for a few minutes on the phone with a friend....I'll stop. With no response in return...Because nobody is on the line. I call back, and my friend will say "The cheekbone". lol I'll have to live with this curse forever. And sheep burps you say? Pokemon burps are the best!

I think a lot of people here think the same way, they just don't always know how to say it nor do they want a target on their back. If I see that kind of attitude again? I'm calling it out. There's 'feeding the trolls', and there's showing someone how stupid they sound, making up lies about the game affects anyone who is considering playing it. Liam called it out too, it's sad that someone goes to the effort of doing that but it's even sadder that like you told me that same kind of attitude makes you feel unwelcome there. Then I think about the people who did leave and told me why they were leaving, it was the negativity, it's easy to counteract that with some positivity, it only took me two-minutes.

I never loose my optimism, I know things aren't perfect and you need to remember that a comment on here is just one thing. I've seen violence and worse done to people who fly under your flag. It didn't destroy my faith in humanity either because when people act like that they aren't in my eyes 'human', nor are they animals because I don't want to offend my four legged comrades either. My original thinking was that surely England is above ignorance, I was wrong, no where is. The difference is you do have protections and a mainly civilized society, you haven't been condemned to the label of an extremist or a pervert (but to me pervert is a compliment, different strokes as they say) so people shouldn't act like you have. Thank you and hope so, I only get to see it from the perspective of propaganda. How extremism is being stamped out how our children will have a brighter future. I don't believe that and can't. They'll go through Hell, I didn't because it's one rule for us and one rule for everyone else, but I've seen certain things on our networks, clippings from our social-media, I know how far it goes. And of course so many LGBT people literally fled which I only knew about because my friend did too. People say they want their heterosexual games/no 'modern crap', I wonder would they say the same thing if they saw the kind of things I did. Those videos/pictures, they stayed with me, I was shown literal torture, there's no other word for it and I might be desensitized to a lot of things, not that. So to think you impacted my optimism? absolutely not, I've seen far worse. The difference is I didn't know those people (I still felt for them) and I feel for you too.

True but again, there's the slings and arrows and like I said they do hurt and you aren't anyone's punching bag either, you shouldn't have to ignore anything, it's those people who need to change not you. Nor should you have to lurk articles because you don't feel welcome in those comments. Wolverine is about a man with those claws, those hairy arms (which I know we both appreciate) and hyper-violence and yet some people still try to label it as something else. That devotion to misinformation? that's extremism, not the other way around.

It's a really incredible game and it seems to have only fallen quiet because there's so much game there in the first place, I'm not sure that everyone wants such a huge world with all of that content. I thought they did but from reading the comments on certain games I think a lot of people just don't have the time. I've been going at it for weeks, I don't even think Ravix finished the story. It sounds like I'll need to if I'm ever to try the upcoming DLC.

Okay I have it, it wasn't hard, everything is somewhere when you know where to look. I never even considered that it might be tied into the show. I thought the movies came first. Are there any movies with the people who live in those giant cubes? I ask because I saw their picture and they remind me of Dark City, a kind of cyber-Noir, I really like that aesthetic.

I'm feeling so much better thank you, that stomach infection has been cast into the shadow dimension. Just waking up today and not going 'argh' was such a good feeling. It was odd because at night it would seem to calm down and then 'perhaps tomorrow it will better?'. The next day would be 'argh' again. I was talking to Tjuz too and he was like nurse Tjuz with 'you need more blankets, more blankets'. The rest/online landed at the worst possible time and it did reach offline too. The silver-lining is that I'm on speaking terms again with an ex-girlfriend and that wouldn't have happened if someone who thinks they are clever (they aren't) didn't try to dox me, they hit her instead, which good luck with that temper and congrats for getting absolutely no where chasing ghosts. I don't have, nor have I ever had a social-media presence. Like I said I'm going no where. Cooler heads did prevail. The shivers probably did add to that coolness.

@MistahChimp Hi again Mistah, I checked and that's them. I like that darker aesthetic and tone for my sci-fi but it's a little tricky to find in some franchises. I recently wrote a big post about why Empire Strikes Back (my favorite StarWars) is basically the Cold War in space, but I think people were a little taken aback, it's true though I think it is. With darker sci-fi studios need to play it safe in order to keep a rating that boost box-office takings, I'll definitely try that one thank you. Funnily enough I recently found a StarWars Horror series on Audible so I'll probably try that too.
So what's it like finally going from lurking to participating with conversations and such? It's quiet at the moment because people are back to work/school, the weekend is coming too so you'll most likely meet more people. I'm not usually as active myself, mainly at night. I've been ill and this/People here have been keeping me grounded, normally I'm bouncing time-zones and playing musical chairs with insomnia and daylight, it's a strange slower pace, but I'm gaming too.

@CaptD wow still adding content… and good content by the sounds of it. As we’ve mentioned many times mate (& it’s an incredibly unfashionable take) but Ubisoft continue to support their genes like pretty much no one else.
I’ll look forward to checking it out when I get around to finishing iff the platinum. Probably be a while though as I have Forza Horizon 5 next up on the rank as far as racers go.

A lot of people would be playing Wolverine too. I by nature multitask so I'm typing here and gaming at the same time, music too and talking to two other people while typing to you.
At the moment I'm reading the Iliad for my studies and I find it somewhat interesting, because has I'm reading it, I am also finding various comparisons between Achilles and Kratos. Which peaks my interest further has I love the Greek era of his adventures.
God of War is a series I've yet to try. It's the pantheon itself that makes me consider it, I'm late to a lot of franchises and that's one of them. The same for Uncharted, The Last of Us, even Tomb Raider. There's mild intimidation too. Some of those have years if no decades of titles. I only recently tried Grand Theft Auto and that involved sourcing every game and playing them in their original timeline on each original machine. It's a kind of archeology too, I want to learn and respect the past, not mumble and grumble about the current state of things. Have you tried Immortals Fenyx Rising? It looks like a children's game, it's really not. I really enjoyed it, the world was varied, the story solid enough and the combat flowed well.
In regards to the Star Trek film I mentioned, it might be worthwhile to watch the Star Trek: The Next Generation two-part episode "The Best of Both Worlds" before watching First Contact.
Werehog also said something similar about the Wrath of Khan, to watch certain episodes first. I only started watching television recently. I've covered a lot of old British comedies, tried some American shows like Friends (pretty good) South Park (hectic and a product of it's time, but funny) Archer (really good) and this week was Bob's Burgers. I've seen some other random ones like The Outer Limits, The X-Files and DareDevil, some cartoons too. I can do it while I game, multitasking again.
As for the Darth Vader stuff, I’ve always thought there’s an interesting irony to his character in that Vader has always been a slave in one form or another. Even when he appears to be this incredibly powerful figure
You both insulted and complimented my hero, and expertly too. It's a really interesting perspective, I always saw him as a kind of alchemist or black magician trying to use real power to again prolong his life and to end anyone's who stood in his way. I think at the same time he carries a lot hatred, not just for his enemies but for himself, it literally consumed him. It's as though his own feelings of self-punishment extended outwards across the galaxy, he wants everyone else to feel how he does. It's pure rage without limits. It then allows him to see democracy and certain freedoms as a weakness, one that needs to be stomped out, leaving only power itself, authoritarianism. If you follow the time-line he watched as democracy did fail, the Senate wasted their time arguing and going in circles. Real power then became not just a tool but the answer, his Deathstar.
I said something similar about Bison from the Street Fight movie and his Pax Bisonica.

I believe that Vader too wanted a benevolent rule, what the West call a dictatorship, however by those standards it's seen as extreme and warped, possibly even psychotic. I think they both believed that one man, powerful and wise enough was enough to steer the ship of their intended 'galaxy'. And that neither could attain that sense of 'perfection' without stripping away the individual freedoms of their enemies, I believe they saw that extreme efficiency (soldiers and Deathstars) as a means to an end, one that could bring about real security, total economic stability, love from the people.
He's not really my hero, I just find it easier to naturally identify with The Empire, I understand that way of thinking. I understand what the Rebels want too and I believe in their right to freedom. But I was born into an Empire not a Rebellion and right now I'm living through a war, it's not in the stars it's right here. I can say I want freedom for Alderaan, but I still have to live on Coruscant, and there are no shortage of Imperial probe droids so I've learned when to return to carbonite when necessary.
As for games, I do like Assassin’s Creed. I especially liked the Ezio era. I enjoyed the base game of Origins, and I actually platinumed Odyssey on my old account before eventually deleting it. I haven't played one since then.
Origins was my favorite followed by Odyssey. I found it hard to relate to Ezio, I respect his journey, his struggle but again I relate more to the Father of Understanding's guidance than a bed-sheet.

I’m a bit more picky about games now that I’m older (early 40s) rather than being a kid with endless time! 😂 I tend to look for games that I know I’ll really get into (Dragon Quest, anything of the Final Fantasy 7 persuasion, Resident Evil, Greek era God of War) rather than buying everything that looks interesting.
I bought my first Dragonquest game a couple of days ago. It's called Builders 2, I thought after Palworld I'd try an original monster catching series and when I looked at the Nintendo store there was perhaps fifty Pokemon games, so no. Dragonquest seems safer. You are the second person this week to tell me that forty is old, it's really not. It's a number, nothing more. If you are doing what makes you happy and following your passions then nothing else matters.
I absolutely love the Yakuza games. I first got into them with the original version of Yakuza 3 when I brought it from Blockbuster back in 2011, and they’ve been a favourite ever since.
I tried my first one of those some months ago. Infinite Wealth, I liked the characters, the world design, the commitment to a good story, the ability to welcome newcomers, but the whole thing dragged on so much that it for me it covered six time-zones and took weeks to complete. The night I finally finished and saw that platinum pop was such a good feeling, then exhaustion hit and I collapsed on the floor and lay there until Someone took me to bed.
I’m also a big fan of the old LucasArts classics (Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle), the first two Broken Sword games, Old Zelda games (up to the Twilight Princess) and the side scrolling Metroid's (liked the First in the Prime series, couldn't stand the rest).
Grim Fandango I've seen, some of the others too. I do collect/play Retro but that's playing catch-up too. At the moment it's Discworld on Playstation One. Then will be Pandemonium. I'm balancing a lot of formats/systems and games, and do need to finish Breath of The Wild. I'm mainly Sony but for Retro I do mix brands, it's the only way to see and feel the scope of everything.
@MistahChimp I was just talking to someone about that today, the lockdown/pandemic. I didn't know about it at the time because diplomatic travel was still frequent so we were never grounded. It took catching Covid to know that the world was on lockdown. We had places to be and no one wanted to tell me because I'd freak out, which is true I would have. From talking to enough people it seems like the pandemic birthed many new gamers. Why aren't you asleep do you also have insomnia? I'm still paws deep in my game. I finally met a boss I can't beat yet, so I'm doing the story and I have miles to go before I sleep, or rather I'll keep going for one more hour then turn in. Fenyx almost had a sequel, but Ubisoft in their grand wisdom decided to cancel it, then tell people to get used to not owning what they pay for. They did update Wildlands though so at least they are trying.

GTA Vice City is my favourite game in the franchise. For me, it had the best radio stations. I actually listened to pretty much all of them, and I have a stronger connection to that era of music because my mum always had the radio on when I was growing up.
Mine too, I said the exact same thing today/yesterday to that Norwegian man who's name I'm not even going to try to spell because I'll get it wrong. I was talking about V-Rock but I liked everything else from A Flock of Seagulls, Corey Hart, Kate Bush (obviously) Laura Branigan to Hall & Oates and Yes. Eighties music is just great in general and Vice City tapped hard into so many movies that I do admire. I tried to like Five, I just couldn't relate to it. We have this thing in Russia where the further East you go the further towards the Eighties you land. I was in a club once in Vladivostok and I could swear they played the entire Vice City soundtrack, it was almost every song from those stations. I didn't hear much Western Pop growing up, mostly just Russian versions of those same names and a lot of TaTu. Which was really strange because when I got to London and saw they too had reached England, it was just so unexpected, especially because they were singing in English. They did quite well in England/Europe too, shows and things too.
With the other GTA games, I’d usually just skip between a few stations that played mostly ’80s and some ’90s tunes. Vice City was the one where I genuinely enjoyed listening to almost everything on the radio.
With Grand Theft Auto Three I liked everything from the Classical station because I adore Mozart, Verdi and Puccini, they needed some Vivaldi, I have eight-hundred of his pieces/tracks listened to already this month. I love Classical music but also like the Giorgio Moroder tracks.
Also the song 'Fade Away'.
It didn't feel like a Grand Theft song, it felt more personal, I think that's when they were really experimenting.
No I don't have insomnia, I'm just in the middle of prepping for my studying tomorrow and I thought I come on and see if anything was going on.
Okay good you don't need it, mine comes and goes but it's dictated by jetlag too, I'm ill at the moment too which makes it easier to sleep thankfully. If not I'd probably be awake until four in the AM talking to random people in Deepweb chatrooms, which sounds spooky. It's really not, I know a lot of people over there and we talk games, movies, music just like here. Other than this site I don't really use the surface-web. I was over there before here, even having search engines is odd, we don't index, it's who and what you know. I was steered here to talk to 'normal people', I'm not sure that there is such a thing and yet it keeps life interesting.
@GirlVersusGame Looks like the new person you were talking to deleted their account (easy come, easy go) so I'll repeat their Star Trek advice for the record, since it was accurate! There is a movie about the Borg (a.k.a. the people who live in those giant cubes) and it's called Star Trek: First Contact. It follows a different crew, serving aboard a different Starship Enterprise, but it's still set in the same continuity as the characters you'll see interacting with Mr. Montalbán. Again, while it's not 100% essential, the backstory for First Contact can be found in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes "The Best of Both Worlds" (Season 3, Ep. 26) and "The Best of Both Words, Part II" (Season 4, Ep. 1) but the movie covers its bases well enough. If you have any further questions about the franchise, just ask!

@GirlVersusGame wow they even delete posts here too..pushsquare do not like being critiqued. Anyway I found a little cheap game on the store called keepers toll. It looks right up our street and I'll probably pick it up soon to add to my vampire survivors type games.
