I feel like gaming and literature are going to be my main diet of media for the next few years, just can't find any music that interests me sufficiently for me to purchase a physical copy nowadays...

@LieutenantFatman I'm the manager. And you are right, loads of hot air.

So Hogwarts Legacy’s character creator will separate body, voice and gender, proving that the devs are trying hard to separate themselves from Rowling. I appreciate what they’re doing but I still don’t really know if I want to spend money on something that she’ll directly profit from. Considering that there’s also word going round that one of the producers is an outward supporter of GamerGate and made dozens of YouTube videos denouncing feminism, I don’t see the toxicity around the game going away any time soon. Part of me doesn’t even really want to see an article on it on here as I just know the usual types will spout nonsense.
I’ll buy the game no matter what the creators think if it looks good. Nothing wrong with someone having opinions and the game looks pretty good so I’m down to buy it.
@nessisonett
Yep, I see the comments have been closed on the PS article and whatever was said, removed. A sad inevitability that it was going to go that way.
I gotta say something i just had a look though Pushsquares staff page and i noticed they haven't hired (sorry ment hired not hide) any people of color or trans. Is pushsquare racist. /s
@nessisonett I mean, she probably also greenlit the project, so she's okay with it apparently.
I dunno. I find it difficult to use that as a reason not to buy the game. Game consoles are probably in part made by actual slave labour in China, I find that a worse offense. So it would be hypocritical for me not to buy a HP game, because the original creator said some stupid @!$% on Twitter.
@Octane At the end of the day, any sort of boycott will run into contradictions or inconsistencies as pretty much every single company in the world engages in unethical practices. It’s easier to make a stand if there’s a figurehead sticking their head above the parapet and lobbing insults. The Miners’ Strikes didn’t target Brian from the Civil Service who was involved in the decision making process in shutting the mines. I don’t really expect to create some waterproof argument as to why I don’t want to give her money but I still buy Coco Pops, I just feel incredibly uncomfortable about the whole situation.
I don't agree with what she said, but I also don't view this issue strongly enough to warrant boycotting the game.
If the game is excellent, then I'll be eager to pick it up straight away. If it's instead one of these hyped up games that end up being underwhelming, then I'll wait for a sale or give it a miss.
I'm back though. I think I was close to doing something "stupid". I really reached a point where I just had to go completely off grid and mentally hibernate, and try and reset my brain. I've been referred for CBT treatment by my GP. So I hope that'll help a little.
I really wish I'd read up what the game was about before I played it lol... yeah.
As for the game itself; it's okay. Only a brisk experience. It's far too finicky for a puzzle game, however. I didn't appreciate that. Presentation is nice though, but If it were any longer it would probably end up outstaying its welcome.
@nessisonett Thank you. I'm getting there slowly! Yeah, and here's me thinking it's just a nice little puzzler I can play to take my mind off things. Instead the game wanted to remind me I'm newly divorced lol.
@Arugula I have to try =) It flew under my radar completely, but the screenshots had me interested. It's the developer's debut game so it's good for a a first effort. But it's nothing special in my opinion. Be prepared for how short it is too.
@nessisonett i agree with you although i see this as a game i would be interested in if it lives up to the hype..dont give a monkeys about rowling or her out dated oppinions as i'm a live and let live kinda guy (apart from ignorant *****)! As soon as pushsquare published this article they must have known on some level that it was instant click bait material and the usual gobshites were going to descend on mass..as we have stated before pushsquare really should know by now to be cautious of what they are bringing to the trough..
Maquette looks like a cool game, but I'm really put off by the fact that it revolves around a story. It's something I don't need in a puzzle game. A game like The Witness really embraced that, and I wish there were more games like that.
I'm currently learning to play jazz guitar by ear, which is a considerably harder challenge to take on than playing through the Souls games, comparatively, in my experience, and plowing through the LotR trilogy. @Th3solution@kyleforrester87 Frodo and co. are currently making their way through the Old Forest, beset by sinister-looking trees with dire intentions
