@TheBrandedSwordsman I've only watched the movies, but would like to read the books at some point.

I have read The Hobbit. Really enjoyed that book, but it's worth mentioning that its tone is a bit lighter than LotR (or even The Hobbit movies).

@crimsontadpoles I've read that as well, now onto the first volume of the LotR, The Fellowship of the Ring. I haven't watched The Hobbit films with that man from The Office (The TV show, not a place where I work) Martin Freeman I believe is the name, I'd recommend Fellowship of the Ring based on what I've read so far, I'm about halfway through that now.

@TheBrandedSwordsman Glad you’re enjoying the book. As for the Hobbit movies, I think they get a bad rap, as I think they are very well produced and entertaining. They capture the essence of Middle-earth in the same way the original LotR movies do, but it’s just the storyline is not effectively done and has so much added content that detracts from the classic book’s rendition.

I've read The Hobbit a few times, great little adventure. I would definitely say avoid the films, they're not good with the exception of a couple of good scenes.

TLOTR however, both the books and films are great.

@Kidfried I'm okay. Thank you for asking. Well enough to interact again. But I need to keep mindful otherwise I'll be back to square one. I'm getting a bit of support so I hope that makes things easier.

I do need a new game to help me when I feel an episode coming on though. Wondering if I should get Yakuza 7 which is £40, or wait for the price to come down.

“And to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street” is one of the best kids books ever written and a dear part of my childhood. It’s a shame a bunch of idiots are gonna take it away for upcoming generations. At this rate we should cancel every book known to man with humans in it.

I’ll look forward to reading my kids the good old classics of Dr. Seuss when I have children. 😁 Hopefully I can dig up my old copies of them.

@Blooper987 If the ‘bunch of idiots’ you’re referring to is Dr Seuss’ estate then sure, that’s what happened. Funnily enough, Sean Hannity accidentally read out the Seuss estate’s statement while trying to make it all about ‘the left’ and ‘cancel culture’.

Yes, me too. I won't say it was forced on me haha, but I'd personally run out of options and it was suggested that I try CBT. So here I am.

@Arugula Judgment was my 2018 GOTY. The end credits of that game were so perfect. I picked up Yakuza 0 during the sale, but I don't think I could play 6 more of them: I might be in the minority here but I really don't like the English localisation. I'm lucky enough to know Japanese [exaggeration] so I try play with the subtitles off but I'm worried that I'll miss important details so tend to turn them back on when I feel a big cutscene is about to happen... the tone is utterly wrong. It often baffles me and removes me completely from the story. Elders and Yakuza wouldn't talk like that. And the language used isn't what is said in Japanese. Okay, for substories and silly missions - fine. But the main story? I really don't understand it. I can only assume they're all like that.

Like A Dragon, however, genuinely piques my interest. I can't quite put my finger on it but all the media I've seen of it has impressed me. I'm really tempted to pick up the Day Ichi edition on PS4 and upgrade it, but it's £35 right now. Although I wonder if that's the best I'll get unless I wait for months and months.

@Kidfried It's like standing on a precipice. Some days I'll wake up and find that I'm toppling over the edge, so I just retreat and try to get through the day by myself. Other days I'll feel like I'm on solid ground so I'll pop by and say hello!

@JohnnyShoulder Thank you =) I suppose sooner or later I'll have to stop being so "woe is me" and try and get on with it. If anything, for my own sake.

I'm playing through FF7 Remake thanks to PS+. I have to say I'm loving it so far. I do have a history with FF. I've played most of them and FFIX is my favourite game of all time. But the vibe in this is great. And all the jazz! Oh the jazz.

I do miss Gran Turismo lol.

@Jimmer-jammer That's ok, I understand that you have a real life and responsibilities outside of Push Square, so you're more than welcome to disappear whenever you feel the need, if you have a look at the Elden Ring Hype Thread on here, I've posted a link to the leaked footage that was recently released, let me know what you think in that thread after you've watched it, if you're still interested in the game. And I'm well thanks, just focusing on reading and watching the cricket at the moment.

@LieutenantFatman Have you read any Berserk? It's the manga series that partially inspired Dark Souls. Sorry if I've asked you before. By the way did you see the upscaled Elden Ring leaked trailer footage? I've posted a link in the Hype Thread for that game, what were your thoughts?

I've never read any manga, very rare i read comic books to be honest. Would probably watch the adaption if it came to something like Netflix though. Definitely interested in Elden Ring but I'd prefer to wait for an official announcement or trailer.

@LieutenantFatman There is an anime adaptation that was made in the 90s out already, 'A Sword-Wind Romance', I believe, is the subtitle. You can probably find it online. Let me know what you think ,if you watch any of it.
