As someone who has suffered from severe depression and anxiety in the last two years I know how valuable it is to know people are there for you and to be supported.

So henceforward I have formed this chat, if you are having a bad day and need someone to talk to, or are seeking advice feel free to leave something in the chat and hopefully people including me can help you out.

If you ever want to talk in private then feel free to hit up my Twitter @DonJorginho and I will always be free to talk to you and help you out.

You're not alone in whatever you are going through right now, I promise.

@linq Thank you man, as someone who has thankfully recovered from trying to take their own life I felt it would be good to provide support for those so noone would ever have to go through that.

I am so sorry for your loss man, and just know I am always here for you whenever you need to talk.

Gaming and music are what help me mainly, whether it is making my own music, listening to my favourite artists or just working out to some songs it always gets me boosted.

Gaming is something I love when I am in need to get away from some of the harsh reality we find in day to day life, it offers temporary escape and relaxation.

That is great to hear man, feel free to add my psn SamxSZN if you ever wanna play something (If we both have it lol), and I hope you enjoy the gaming!

And yes mate exercise is very vital, I have always been a bigger lad but a bit of football, running, walking at a pace or just taking the dog for a walk is a massive benefit for your physical and mental health.

Hope you're all good though mate and feel free to follow my Twitter if you use it and DM me to let me know its you!

@DonJorginho Great idea. Whilst the very nature of such issues might not make this the most talkative of topics, just knowing it exists and being able to scroll through a handful of supportive, like-minded posts is gonna help somebody, somewhere. I know it's put a smile on my face already.

Thank you, and equally willing to chime in whenever it might be of some use.

@QualityGeezer hey man, with myself having an uncle who suffers from severe bipolar and where my job has me work with autistic children on a daily basis you have all my respect and support as I know how hard it can be sometimes due to the things I've seen and talked about with people.

Know that you can talk here whenever you want and me and others will all be here for you mate.

Glad to have you here.

Great idea, its important to know you can have someone to talk when needed. Sometimes just having someone to listen to you can help a great deal.

Hi

I just made an account for this site after seeing this topic specifically.

Thanks for taking the time to set up a thread on this subject, because it is very important to many people.

Sometimes we all just need to reach out to each other over common interests like gaming, music, or reading. My personal therapy, other than making and listening to music, has been college. After getting past high school, and a misfire at a tech school, I went into a community college and kept going from there.

Now I have a Master's and no clue what is next. But, I'm glad to see folks are reaching out to each other online in a positive way.

Thanks

@TBK_bee17 Happy to have you here on Push Square mate and I agree it is an important subject and conversation to be able to have on here for people, that's why I made this thread as I understand how something as small like this can make the largest difference for people.

And I also make my own music so happy to have that in common, do you have twitter at all brother?

Shigurui

@DonJorginho - Great topic. I have Asperger's and as a result suffer from secondary depression. I don't post much here on the forum, mainly lurk but as @RogerRoger pointed out, just knowing this topic exists at a place I visit regularly is a bonus. Thanks man.

@DonJorginho Yeah you deserve kudos for setting this thread up. It can sometimes feel like the internet is just people shouting at each other. This goes to show that's not the case.

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

@Shigurui I am sorry to hear that man, just know that me and countless others are always here for you if you ever need support, advice or just someone to talk to about all sorts.

No need to thank me man, I just wanna help people like I was helped when I needed it most.

Hope you have a fantastic Christmas if we don't manage to speak before it.

DonJorginho

DonJorginho

@Gremio108 I agree a lot of the internet is overly hostile and due to that it is no surprise that cyber bullying is become a larger cause of depression amongst many young people.

Just know I am always here if you need to talk anything bro, whether it be on here or Twitter.

Is your name Gremio after the football club or am I just being naive? Feel free to correct me lol!

Hope you have a fantastic Christmas if we don't manage to speak before then man and stay safe.

DonJorginho

Gremio108

@DonJorginho Ha, I've been asked that before on here about the Gremio team. It's actually from a character in the Suikoden series, but as a result of being asked about the team, I've ended up watching out for how the Gremio FC are doing from time to time. They were unlucky in the Copa Libertadores last year!

Merry Christmas to you too!

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

I just read the following article which resonated with me quite a bit. I totally agree that video games can be a great help in taking your mind off things, and have personal experience of seeing it help someone through a tricky patch.

And I'm definitely going to check out Thumper! It has always interested me and my mate in work got it for the Switch recently recommended to me.

@linq No problem and glad you liked it! Not played Celeste as not really into pin point platformers, but Thumper is definitely something that had me interested in. Just the description 'rhythm violence' had me!
